Lyrically it's weak and the chorus sounds like the result of being told "you have thirty seconds to write a chorus." Just an extremely lazy melody behind uninspired lyrics.

 

Who cares how much time it took to write something. Anyway, I don't know how it comes across as lazy, and the lyrics are fine

 

Didn't do it in order but loved every second

 

I can tell Thick as Thieves is going to wind up as one of my favorites

 

Any other way to listen to Thieves besides Apple Music?

Thick as Thieves is a cool jam. I think I like it better than Bad Catholics.

Bad Things is one of my lesser favorites on RW but I still dig it.

I love the riff in bad things but not massively keen on the chorus. It also suffers from being sandwiched between Asshole and Rodent imo haha

Thick is Thieves is a lot better than the live version made it seem. I don't think this bodes well for them streaming the album today but hopefully I'm wrong.

 

Glad to have a Tom song. The band's Facebook shared a review over the weekend, and the pull quote they used referred to Greg as the only singer lol. I would be totally fine with Greg taking the lion's share of the vocal duties, but the band wouldn't be the same without a couple of Tom tracks.

 

This is definitely the most I've anticipated an album since the Smashing Pumpkins reunited and released Zeitgeist 10 years ago lol. Glad everyone is digging Thick as Thieves, gonna get on it in a bit

 

Just reminiscing about when I first truly "got it" with this band - I'd heard Chamberlain Waits and liked it, albeit superficially as I was on a massive gritty vocals kick at the time. Didn't particularly pay attention to the lyrics. Heard Gates on my phone speakers and it wasn't really my thing because all I was looking for was energy, and also my phone speakers were absolute dogshit, hah. OTIP leaked a short while after, near to my birthday. It was an absolutely rotten, raining, grey and bleak day - popped my headphones in as I was walking out of the house, and as soon as Good Things kicked into gear, everything just clicked. Despite how much of a shit day it was I was grinning ear to ear. I have so much love for this band it's unreal, hah. Bring on Friday, I've been ready for this to drop since Lookers came out.

 

Thick as Thieves is the one they were playing on the bayside tour right? Remember really really being into it when I heard it live, excited to listen to the studio version

I'm going to hold off listening to Thick as Thieves and wait for the whole album to drop. 3/13 songs is enough.

 

So pissed I'm going to Boston this weekend or I'd try and make it. Oh well still can't wait for the Fillmore show
