primarily subbing to this thread to discuss the single when that rolls around, but also because yesterday i was thinking about whether my Neighborhoods review was the most regrettable thing i've ever written and decided that it's #2 behind the time i reviewed an Eminem record.

 

Maybe it's time to give your second opinion about that album? I don't think you need to regret about the review/score you gave in the past. It is still a pretty solid album even after we know how hard it was to cooperate with Tom and produce any solid output. But there are definitely good songs on this record.

i really can't make it all the way through that album. it isn't offensively bad or anything like that, but i would score it like...a 6 or so today

Neighborhoods is probably their weakest album at least since Enema, but I don't think it represents a huge drop off in quality. Like someone earlier said, it's still a pretty solid release if you take into account how discombobulated the writing and recording processes seem to have been.

 

Mark is so awesome.

 

Haha yeah I'd say a 6 at best. Probably a 4 or 5 for me. What did you rate it?

 

Neighbourhoods is 3 guys singing and playing songs written in 3 separate rooms and put together on a record.
The songs are somewhat decent but devoid of any emotion or feeling. Its a very sterile feeling record.

Sums up how I feel every time I try to listen. I can get into a random song here or there if it comes across on shuffle, but trying to go from start to finish never works out.

 

I still think the first half would have been a really solid ep.
