I keep hearing fantastic things, but I have almost no nearby friends to play with regularly enough to warrant a purchase. May sound like a ridiculous question, but what are the odds of it being playable solo? Haha.

Very good. It runs on a system called Automa for solo play.

Yeah I'm trying get scythe brought to the table myself.

Played one game in TTS and want to play more now that I know how it all works. It can be really hard to form a strategy the first time through.

That might sell me on it right there. Definitely gonna consider picking it up at my LGS.

Scythe has been soooo hard for my store to get. We got one copy in and it sold within the hour.

local board game store sold scythe to my brother in law for $60 because one of the corners of the BOX was a bit crushed. zero damage to the game itself. we're getting together to play it with a bunch of people in a couple of weeks.

I love, love, love the original 7 Wonders, and that's honestly stopped me from pulling the trigger on Duel. Will I view it as a watered-down version of the original or does it work well in its own right?

Played 7 wonders duel last nighr on TTS as well

Its really cool and I won through warfare. Haven't played OG 7 wonders tho.

You. Gotta. Almost exclusively responsible for getting me into TTGs. So balanced and so many paths a person could take.

It completely revamps the game and how it's played. Cards are laid out in specific solitaire-esque pyramids that plays can draw cards from. Both players receive 4 wonders, of which only 7 total can be built.New win conditions are introduced - military is placed along a scale that adjusts when military cards are built, and science based on the number of total science symbols collected. Duplicate science symbols allow players to choose one of five randomly selected Progress tokens, which add further benefits.

Blows the base game out of the water at that.

Yes, my first time through seemed to take forever and drag on because everyone was trying to understand what everything meant. This last time we played through I should have won, but the game modifier was territories controlled was like 6 coins, I ended up losing by 2 coins and I raged haha. My strategy is basically build the riverwalker, build the 4th free worker, and then do the enlist and upgrade bottom row actions over and over, and produce just enough to do them, after that I'll work on the popularity, bolster, and coins. It helps if you can secure the Russia clan where you can do the same action over and over.

Played Clank! this weekend, it was okay. kind of slow for as simple as it is.

Me and my friends have tired to play Pandemic and Mysterium and the rules to both seemed really complicated and it took us forever to figure out. I'm pretty sure we played both of them wrong. Are these hard games or are we just dumb? The only game we all love is Splendor, haha.

Not sure about Mysterium but from what I've heard you kinda have to play Pandemic a few times to really get the hang of things and understand the rules well

Mysterium is kind of a hard teach. you need an experienced character playing the Ghost. It's one of my favorite to teach. I did a Halloween event at the store and Asmodee sent me a bunch of promo swag for the game.

Any good 2 player games? I mainly see games that need 3 players to be good.

I don't always have 2 other friends to play with

Okay so maybe we're picking games above our level, haha. They seemed like they'd be fun if we got it, though! Mysterium reminded me of Dixit a bit.
