Was just thinking about how lucky we are that Trump doesn't drink at all. Can you imagine how much worse this would be, given what we know about his temperament and appetites for excess, if he was a drinker?

Good early news on the senate confirmation hearings is the Dem senators most likely to side with the GOP due to where they are are expressing their no votes on people like DeVos (Tester, Manchin)

 

Headed to the inauguration now. I'm on an hour of sleep, my heart is pounding, and I'm looking forward to meeting people and exercising solidarity!

 

I work pretty closely with democratic politics in Ohio because of what I do for work. I know a good number of folks, maybe 3 or 4, who either volunteered or worked with her campaign who said they didn't need to visit union halls because "those people will vote for us if their leadership tells them to." Well, they didn't, (she lost union households in Ohio by 9%). The arrogance was so palpable. This is just anecdotal, of course, but I think it is in line with a lot of other stories of how she lost the working class in the Midwest.

 

Now I'm realizing that I never really gave thought to whether or not presidents drink a lot, if at all. It would actually surprise me if any recent president was a casual drinker in the white house. Don't you need to be "on" at all times?

I don't mean just having a beer or something. More like, it's Saturday night and Obama has a few cocktails before bed.

If you are going to watch the inauguration today make sure you do so in a way that does NOT register a ratings point

to be fair, there's no way this doesn't break records for most live streamed inauguration ever. Regardless of politics, I'd be surprised if this record doesn't get continuously broken with each new president.

I assumed he was referring to the people on the left that were highly critical of her, and even more so after she lost to Trump. But, whatever.

 

Drove in to work today and saw 'No Facist USA' hanging off an overpass and it made me so happy...especially in Idaho where it most likely pissed off 90% of the other drivers.

 

Half of my company sells container handlers, the other half sells floor scrubbers. The second one is discussing new slogans. The leading choice is "make your floors great again". I....I have to quit this place.

 

You'd hope they realize that would be turning like 2/3's of their potential customers away...
