I love Fran Kranz so I had to check it out. Waste of time.

 

He looks as if he's the most high strung person on the planet, jesus christ.

 

Sinister is great imo but also like he is consistently loud af and his family never wakes up and I'm like............ ok

edit: I really enjoyed this. I was scared quite a few times. Might just watch this again right now.

 

It's good, better than The Houses October Built. The "documentary about something that didn't really happen" types of movies are good, for the most part.

 

Okay so I watched this twice, and I don't know if it's because of my attention span or what but I could not figure out what Mac told Tony about Alex and why they couldn't leave/what only Mac and Alex knew. The scene in the field.

 

Pretty sure they were talking about the history of the hotel they were renovating. I don't remember their names, but I know the main dude wanted to stay there regardless of all that was happening, then the other two wanted to go. Only two of the three knew about the hotel and it's history.

At least I think that's what happened.

It's decent enough, and probably the most authentic of these fake documentaries. The king of them all being Ghost Watch from the early 90's, but this is probably second place. The ending makes up for whatever may have been shitty.

 

Here's my spoiler-free Split review. Curious how other people feel about this one.

 

Man I thought it was getting generally good reviews.

 

I mean, it's his best work in like a decade, but that's a low bar. Worth going to see, but not the return to form for which I was hoping.

 

Seeing it Saturday and can't wait

Being better than The Visit is a very high bar for me. I don't expect that but I do expect good things

 

WNUF is so good. Bummed that it was taken off Youtube, haha.

Very, very excited for Split.

 

Another good fake documentary is Lake Mungo. But that one is a little different as it's told through talking head segments similar to stuff like 48 Hours and Dateline.
