Agree. The same thing happened with 3D in 3DS. I partly want to blame the developers for just not being creative enough, but I don't remember Nintendo doing something really cool with it either, I mean game mechanics-wise.

But I'm hoping everyone is wrong with HD rumble being unnecessary.

 

Nintendo didn't even do much with the GamePad. It doesn't do anything in Smash Bros. or Donkey Kong. It has an irrelevant use in 3D World and Mario Kart. Splatoon uses it decently but I prefer aiming with the right joystick over the gyroscope.

 

Xenoblade Chronicles X, Affordable Space Adventures and Tokyo Mirage used it well, which now I find amusing since they're 3rd party.

I have a nephew who's around 5 and I'd argue that 3D World uses the gamepad well in that scenario. I can guide him to the correct path, shake trees, tap on ? objects, hold enemies in place and generally assist, just by touching the screen. It's pretty cool.

All the switch hype made me dig out my N64 at the weekend and play Zelda OOT, of course my last save file was at the bloody Water Temple.

 

Ocarina is the only console zelda I prefer to Link's Awakening.

 

I'd probably have to be a lot more conscious of that myself. I've never plugged in any wireless controllers after I was done playing I just set them down. 20 hours is a lot though.

 

I have never really played Minish Cap but I suspect I would like it a lot

 

I also haven't played it and I feel like I've missed out

 

Every time I see a gif from that game it charms me

Yeah I mean it's something different but I'd get used to it haha. That one aspect will have no impact on whether I get it or not.

 

Minish Cap is ace. Very charming game. I need to play more handheld Zelda's, never played either Oracle game or Links Awakening.

 

You know someone on the 1, 2 Switch team knew what they were doing

 

I'm still so salty about the European box art for Zelda. America and Japan get one of the best boxes I've ever seen and we get garbage.

 

Well yeah of course, it's part of the larger European experience, haha

 

Are both of you European? Asia will probably get the NA one. I think only Australia follows the Nintendo of Europe for some reason.

Minish Cap was wonderful. One of my favorite handheld Zelda games.
