Their prices on the accessories are absolutely ridiculous. At this point, you can find a Xbox/Ps4 that play 4K for less than $300 without too much effort, Switch will be in a tough spot I think with its price..

 

The controllers probably cost as much as they should cost. The other consoles are older and very different propositions, so apples and oranges. Some consumers might not see it that way, but that doesn't mean making a regular, cheap-ish PS4 clone would be a good move.

Wii U didn't even have voice chat, not like this is a huge improvement though and it's still INSANE. Nintendo will never get their online services right.

 

It'd be one thing if the services were free... but the gall to ask for a subscription fee (of any amount other than free) for something so far behind it's competitors is crazy to me.

 

Who cares. I don't want to talk to anyone when i'm gaming. Leave me alone don't ruin my perfect score.

 

I rarely voice chat unless I'm playing a cooperative focused FPS (like an Overwatch or Destiny) and really doubt I would have used the feature anyway but it's still fucking insane that you have to download an app to do it.

 

Might be because the thing is portable and does not support 4G or whatever

 

if they're doing the app for portability reasons they're not really sticking by the "home console first" mindset.

 

A single Joycon is $50.
Both Joycons are $80.
A classic controller is $70.

A brand new factory sealed PS4 controller from Sony is $40 give or take a few bucks.

Sorry, but idk how you can say that the controllers for the Switch "cost as much as they should cost". Half a controller for the Switch is more expensive than a PS4 controller, and just because the PS4 is a couple years older doesn't excuse Nintendo for boarderline price gouging on this thing.

All that being said, I'm still pre-order the damn thing, but I have a bad taste in my mouth while doing it with how Nintendo has been charging this thing and it's accessories.

Missing out on Splatoon

 

I'm not really interested in Splatoon, I really don't like it's vibe and I don't really play many online shooters anymore anyway. Does it have a campaign?

 

Don't think so.. I actually haven't played it either due to no Wii U but it looks fun.

 

Splatoon does have a campaign.

But I'd imagine it's probably like a CoD campaign in that most of the "substance" of the game comes from multiplayer.

 

Titanfall was the first Mp only console game of the current gen if I recall correctly. That being one of the main complaints it had. Then 2 packed in amazing campaign. Now Overwatch, Splatoon, and Battlefront need to catch up. If Battlefront puts in a good SW story, and some awesome set pieces I would be so happy.

 

Oh lol I forgot about that thing called Evolve. I was so hyped for that game.

 

Overwatch is the only game I've ever bought that was MP only. I mainly care about single player so it'd take something special to get me to buy another.

 

If Overwatch 2 put in a character specific campaign for each character it would be so cool.
