    Just picked up a six pack of Coney Island Brewery's Mermaid Pilsner to have with some hot dogs that we grilled up for dinner. They were both excellent.

    Bought a Southern Tier Choklat Oranj. It's not bad, wish it had more of an orange kick to it though.

    With a name like that you'd think that wouldn't be a problem

    I just finished the six pack, and now I'm having one of my mom's Miller Lite's and god is this a disappointment.

    Jumping off of your post, I had North Coast Old Rasputin on Nitro recently. While it was still enjoyable, it really muted a lot of the flavors and I'm so used to/love the mouthfeel of Old Rasputin that I was really thrown off.

    Is that the beer they made with sea salt? It's kind of in a teal can?

    Bought some of Revolution's new Rev Pils for my birthday yesterday. It's decent, but I expected better from RevBrew. Very thin on the taste, but a decent and crisp finish. I'll still definitely kill the rest of it this weekend.

    I just got back from Vegas, and I didn't nearly drink as much as I anticipated because I was walking around so damn much trying to take in the sites. Had a few decent West Coast beers on tap there though. Tenaya Creek's Hop Ride was one of the best IPAs I've had in a while.

    One of my local beer bars (Redlight Redlight) had that on nitro consistently for what seemed like 3 years. Always nice to revisit it.

    Look into the time and space required to make those. One of their newer ones, Tangerine Dream, is aged for 20 months in rum barrels. Kriek for 17 months, Blueberry for 12, Pumpkin Smash for 22. That's a lot of cost. And for 750ml of a beer that quality - i'm okay with it.

    I understand that, their beer just isn't worth $30.

  15. reid

    @joemochas

    some are $20, some are $30. some are more. If you're not into it enough to pay $30, that's fine. I find the price is warranted due to the process & quality. it's not a regular for me, but I get excited whenever I get to open one.

    That's in Orlando right? I went there once and loved that place. My friend built that entire wooden wall out of reclaimed wood.

    Had a Heady Topper last night that a coworker gave me, and my boss said he's going to bring me some Tree House on Friday. We'll see...

    As a Milwaukee resident, I am consistently baffled by the fact that all the craft breweries we have fly under the radar.

    I love Lakefront Brewery's Fuel Cafe which is an organic coffee stout.

    When I moved down to my current apartment a few years back, I found myself near a TON of local breweries, and extremely close to one called King Harbor, about a few blocks away. They aren't my favorite of the breweries, but they are a perfect example of consistency and have super solid core beers. One of them is the Swirly which is a brown with vanilla beans and cocoa nibs, which tastes kinda like an ice cream swirly of the flavors.

    Anyway, they had their second anniversary last weekend and brewed a barrell aged imperial version of the Swirly, aged in Wild Turkey barrells for 6 months and I grabbed a bottle. Drank it last night and it was SO good. The place kinda feels like MY locals brewery, you know? Anyway, I am proud of the place and the beer was great
