Well, Vision is the better comic, but I'm inclined to think you might as well continue reading OML first.

Did some comic book reading. I just caught up on my pull not that long ago; how am I so behind again!? lol. Anyways, long post time:

Samnee is killing it on Black Widow. The plot is intriguing, and every issue is such a delicious feast for the eyes. I loved the Edmundson/Noto run, but I'm comfortable saying that Samnee and Waid are putting out the best run on this character yet. This series would be a great place to start when Marvel finally gives in and does a Black Widow film.

The two-issue Mighty Thor arc with Epting art was cool, especially with Sif and Angela tagging along. Though, it's a testament to how good Dauterman is on the series that, while looking at Epting's work, I kept thinking, "I'm glad Dauterman is back next issue."

Saga is a weird monthly read for me anymore. Every issue reminds me at some point that this is a great series with a lot of talent poured into it, but I also haven't been interested in the plot in a while now. I'm really only keeping up 'cause my favorite characters are a delight to spend time with.

That Snotgirl #5 ending was pretty wild. This series is so weird, and after this first arc, I still have no idea what the point is to anything, but this is still one of my favorites every month to read. It's all so silly and enthralling.

I'm really glad this Batgirl arc ended. The last issue in Asia didn't really work for me at all. It was a blast seeing Poison Ivy show up in #6, though. Also, how was Albuquerque's art in this title so sloppy? Larson is pretty good at writing Barbara Gordon, so I'm hopeful that the next arc is better.

I feel fortunate in the fact that the shop that I used to frequent always had a large amount of women shopping as well as several female employees including the GM.

Just started Wolverine and the X-Men by Jason Aaron and I love Chris Bachalo's art soooo much. I'm dreading the inevitable change of artist.

Also read the second volume of Uncanny X-Force and as much as I love Esad Ribic, his art on that book is a big step down from what Jerome Opena was doing in volume 1.

Read the first trade of Scarlet. Loved it so much. Definitely wasn't what I was expecting at all. Really really good political piece. Bendis is so good. Can't wait to read vol. 2.

Read Locke and Key vol 2. Liked it a lot more than the first one. Ordered vol 3 of that and Hack/Slash today.

Guess I should just pull the trigger on Scarlet with my next IST order, especially with how much I love Bendis at his best.

I don't want to give away too much, but it was really wonderful. I thought it was some kinda spy book. I was kinda floored with the story and how it was told. Really gripping stuff. Couldn't put it down.

Despite being a big fan of Coates. I'm not sure I can get into this Black Panther book. It is really confusing for a first time read of the character.

@dadbolt @Deanna and anyone else who'd like, come up with some shit to add to the opening post of the thread. I'd love to see some new stuff up there.

It's not always an easy read, but I've been thoroughly enjoying it. Coates handles the entirety of Wakanda better than literally any other writer has. How far are you?

The first volume of the Priest run and "Who is the Back Panther" by Hudlin and JRJR are both great entry-level reads for familiarizing yourself with the character and his world. As for actual past plot lines, Coates seems to mostly be borrowing from Doomwar (which I still need to read) and it's aftermath, as well as Hickman's work with the character in New Avengers through Secret Wars.

I don't think you need all of that under your belt, but at least skimming over those plot lines online could help orient you if you're pushing through and still lost? Some people who were lost initially but reread it all together when it was on around issue 3 also clicked with it, so maybe that's what you need.

No rush! Just excited to see what you guys add.
I'm at issue three now. I think I'm just overwhelmed with all of these characters I'm unfamiliar with. Part of the problem was also trying to read it while football was on. lol. I definitely want to check out other books.

Yeah, maybe you should just reread the full trade in one football-less sitting now, lol.

When the World of Wakanda trade comes out, you should definitely hit that up. It's telling the story of the Midnight Angels throughout AvX/New Avengers events, which is helpful for further fleshing out this World.

Part of me kinda want to redo my picks, lol. I still like the Superior Foes pick, in spite of Nick Spencer being a loser, 'cause it's awesome, but Spider-Man: Blue and Alias might be too obvious? I kinda wanna give a couple other books shout-outs that might be less obvious.

Plus, I think the post should be reformatted to be alphabetical, with the user's name attached to the end of each blurb.

Doable. I was going to reformat it anyways. That way works for me.

I still need to get a copy of Blue. White too. Waiting on the paperback for that.

Wonder if Loeb and Sale will ever do another one. Considering how long White took, probably not, but maybe someday. They could probably do something cool with some generally overlooked corner of the X-Men's early years.

Hawkeye Purple or Black Widow plz.

Though this most recent Hawkeye origin sucked.

@Henry any specific guidelines for the comics post? I have a few selections in mind, but want to check before I solidify them haha.

Anything works! You don't need to worry about formatting or getting links. Those are easy enough to find.

Okay, cool! I'll have 3-4 for ya.

Did we originally do 3 each? Do we want to allow 4? If so, I'm gonna drop my Alias rec and write up new ones today or tomorrow for Bendis' Uncanny X-Men and Jaime Hernandez's Love and Rockets.

You don't have to change it or anything. We can add and whatnot. Doesn't matter to me. It'll look a lot slicker when I do the new format either tonight or tomorrow.

Then I'll add both things without taking any off and have 5, and soon grow to have half the list. Mwahaha...
