Hard to compare it to something...

Its a space opera about androids having a degree of "humanity". There are these massive Galactus sized beings that wipe out entire planets of people that show up and destroy and then just shut down. These things just float around the planets. From there it follows around an android who had a 'near death experience and sees the other side'. it deals with different races trying to find him in order to figure out the details and what not.

Dustin is such an amazing artist. Watercolors forever.

Someone ordered Kingdom Come through my affiliate link and if it was anyone in here, I'd just like to thank you for the 50 cents (or whatever it is I'll actually get haha).

@Henry sold. I'll drop by my comic shop tomorrow so will def grab that as well. How many trades are there now? Looks like it's on Vol 3 but I want to make sure.

Reading All Star Batman now and I like the art way more than I remember. I think trying to go into this and Tom King's straight after finishing the New 52 run made them seem a lot worse than they are because I was comparing them to Capullo's stuff.

    Just three.

SWEEET. Looks like Detective comics is going straight to trade this time around. Anything to avoid buying hardcovers.

can't be made fun of Prestigious

Not into the DC/Marvel stuff just because of there being too much to keep up with, but I've been diving into some manga lately.

Enjoying One Punch Man and Ghost in the Shell, but I LOVE Death Note. Two volumes in and can't wait to plow through the rest. Is there anything else in this vein anyone can recommend??? It avoids so many of the tropes I hate and has legitimately intelligent characters and I can't get enough.

ASB took me a couple of issues to get into it, but I think the art fits so well with the story Snyder tells in the first arc. Also, Tom King killed it in 2016 for me. So much good stuff from him.

I loved Death Note so much. I kept getting in trouble for reading it at work. That happens when you work in a book store. lol

Around the midpoint of those books, it kinda lost me. You'll know when.

Nothing takes me out of a book more than Del Rey's drawing of eyes. Thankfully, its only the first issue of Spider-Women.

lol. She wasn't a good fit for that mini-event, which I just didn't think was good all around, but I still really like her moody work on Scarlet Witch #1. Glad things are gonna come full circle with her doing #15.

I just read the latest Spider-Gwen trade and was bummed that I didn't know about her losing her powers. Reading this before going into SW and Silk since I'm sure it messed with them too.

I don't recall Spider-Woman really being different between the beginning and the end of Spider-Women.

When you're done, I'll be interested in what you thought. I really like all three characters (although I only keep up with Spider-Woman now), but as a whole, I just did not enjoy the event myself. It just kinda dragged for me and didn't click at all. I vaguely remember a couple moments I liked, but I don't even quite remember what they were, lol.

Rob Liefeld Developing Extreme Universe Movies

Really not sure how successful this will be. Can't imagine that much considering I've never heard of any of those characters.

Also, I read Invader Zim Vol 2 and it was great as expected.
Gonna read Gotham Academy Vol 3 today, should be good

I'm sure this deal is Liefeld taking advantage of dumb Hollywood people who think the Deadpool success means everything he's touched is a potential hit, lol.

Though, Liefeld has had some luck recruiting good talent for his old properties (I haven't read Prophet by Brandon Graham, but I hear it's excellent; I also haven't read Glory, but with Sophie Campbell art, it can't be terrible), so maybe he'll get lucky and get someone good to bring one of these lame franchises.

The Glory and Prophet revivals are wonderful.

And yes, Rob is riding that Deadpool gravy train at the moment.

That's my thoughts. The only way I could see it doing well really is if it's like super low budget or something but if that's the case I can't imagine it'd look any good haha.

Only way anything good comes from this is is Liefeld stumbles upon the right director and pressures the studio into giving said director a lot of creative control, which isn't a likely Hollywood scenario but not 100% impossible.

I'm not particularly invested in any of this, but I'm still rooting for it to work 'cause every comic book adaptation success is a win for the industry as far as I'm concerned.

Agreed. Granted I'm not sure who good directors are because I'm not very well versed in film but still.

I'm also for more comic book movie adaptations as long as they are good

Oh gosh, apparently Sam Wilson Cap #17 has super-cringe-inducing characters who talk in exaggerated social justice speak.

Without context, I don't know if Nick Spencer is mocking "SJWs" or people's perceptions of them, but either way, he should spend less time on politics and more time on humor.

Has anyone been reading Death of Hawkman? Curious as to if it's any good.
