Can someone tell me why they're showing man in the high castle commercials every five seconds for the last week or two? It's really annoying.

I got a question and I'm sure one of you can answer it. Has the clean power plan actually been implemented? I know it had a bunch of issues going on in court and stuff but what ever happened? Like are states following it? I'm making a list of Obama's biggest accomplishments and I'm deciding whether to include it.

New York Times, Wall Street Journal editors take on Trump and the media

Wall Street Journal editor Gerard Baker said that despite the fact Trump often makes “questionable” and “challengeable” statements, he’s instructed his staff to keep their social media postings straight laced in order to maintain the trust of the readers.

Asked by host Chuck Todd whether he’d be willing to call out a falsehood as a “lie” like some other news outlets have done, Baker demurred, saying it was up to the newspaper to just present the set of facts and let the reader determine how to classify a statement.

"I'd be careful about using the word, ‘lie.’ ‘Lie' implies much more than just saying something that's false. It implies a deliberate intent to mislead,” Baker said, noting that when Trump claimed “thousands” of Muslims were celebrating on rooftops in New Jersey on 9/11, the Journal investigated and reported that they found no evidence of a claim.

"I think it's then up to the reader to make up their own mind to say, 'This is what Donald Trump says. This is what a reliable, trustworthy news organization reports. And you know what? I don't think that's true.’ I think if you start ascribing a moral intent, as it were, to someone by saying that they've lied, I think you run the risk that you look like you are, like you’re not being objective,” he said.

The final rules were promulgated but the SC ordered the EPA to hold enforcement pending review. Its likely a goner given the new administration anyway, much like the waters of the United States rule. Honestly though the clean power plan wasn't very progressive, and basically just codified best available technology and pushed coal out. Many states are doing this anyway. In fact, a bunch of states, including red states, are moving forward with the plan anyway.

I do remember reading that a bunch of states were going forward regardless of the court ruling but I just wasn't sure if it was actually being enforced at the moment. And I have no doubt it'll be gone with the new administration. I'm sure most of Obama's energy and environment policies will be gone real quick, which gets me angry even to think about. What I really hope Trump doesn't try to do is pull out of Paris agreement.

The Paris Agreement is largely symbolic, and in that I understand there is great importance, but our environmental air laws were requiring more than the Paris Agreement does. It would be embarrassing and shameful to pull out of the Paris Agreement for sure but my main concern is that he doesn't strip the current federal requirements under the CAA and CWA and allow state pollution havens. However, that would probably require repeal of much of the statutes or very questionable agency rule making. Both of which would be tough imo, but still a frightening possibility. I think he'll at least try. Its going to be war.
