They are a good mix of heavy guitar work but with upbeat poppy songs that have screaming and singing both. But there are better bands that just do the poppy songs and just do heavy stuff.

 

theres plenty of bands that mix heavy and pop. ever listen to torche

I really don't consider anything after Assailants to be good. Maybe 2-3 songs off Paint it Golden.

 

ADTR is turrible

I loved Rise or Die Trying in HS but that album aged horribly. Those drum tones are hideous, and the whole thing sounds about as organic and natural as a chicken mcnugget

 

Using it

 

ADTR is fun for what it is. I come back to them every so often but its never like a binge of their discography or anything, more like someone mentions them and a song gets stuck in my head so I'll lisyen to that and maybe a few others.

Haven't come back to FYS in a while. I feel like they were on the verge of something great with In No Way Shape Or Form and then they just regressed back to what was safe and have been very boring since.

And its not just the mix of heavy and pop. As a unit I feel everything just comes together so well with them. Hard to explain.
