The only Weezer album I don't like is Raditude, but Hurley was very forgettable

Have not heard either of the last two but I've heard White is awesome

 

yeah, I have seen a few people around here say that but I wasn't aware that was a consensus or anything. glad people are finally realizing how good that record is tho

Oddly, Blue hasnt aged well with me aside from Say It Aint So and My Name Is Jonas.

I think Pinkerton is a brilliant, brilliant rock album. Very dark, very much a character study of a guy who was wrestling with A LOT of demons and mental health issues. Plus I think just from a pure songwriting and musical perspective its pretty flawless, fuzzy loud guitars, warm heavy bass, pounding drums, playful synths and emotional pianos, all sorts of efficient yet stunning rock instrumentation backing up some of the most emotionally naked and almost disturbingly honest lyrics.

I think for me it's just that the rawness of those lyrics is kinda disturbing to me, but this is all opinion and I know most people prefer Pinkerton to Blue, no one's wrong or right but if there is I'm wrong always

I think pinkerton is pretty repulsive to actually engage with these days.

 

I found out recently Dave fridmann engineered Pinkerton

 

its the rawness that appeals to me haha. Rivers has said many, many times that those lyrics are representative of his mental health and twisted world views during that writing process. Ofc he recognized that some of those lyrics are kind of gross, theres sexism and the fetishization of asian culture and just a general sociopathic outlook, but thats kind of the point and hes grown from that. but youre not wrong and i always respect your opinions!!!!

Unfortunately most of everything else Weezer has done is pretty bad.
