Sorry. My mind is scrambled because I was trying to do five things at once I wanted that to get on paper.

I used to like the discussions on people's actual reviews and wanted to see what people thought of the Weezer one. Then I realized that it was in the news forum even though that's not where I thought I would be. My suggestion is to have a article discussion forum and then a review discussion forum.

    Did that make more sense.

Also that was really hard to type. My hands are numb from running outside.

  2. Yeah, it does. I think I'd just recommend visiting the review page and clicking that link to the comment thread though. I'll think about it, but splitting it out would be kind of a pain in the ass because how I'm doing the importing of the articles. It's doable, but the amount of work would be pretty immense.

  3. Doesn't the thread turn a lightish blue when you post in it? Or is that just following? If so, don't follow threads you don't post in and it should be effectively the same thing.

  4. Yeah the light blue = following. Which happens almost exclusively by posting in it unless you change your settings. I looked at other ideas for "posted in" badges and found it to be a little redundant for the trade offs (finding a place for it on mobile, confusing nature of another dot).

It looks like the melodybot automatically adds a topic for any article posted on the main page. Is there a way to include that on the main page post itself? Something along the lines of "Discuss this here" with a link that will bring you right to the corresponding article discussion page.

I only suggest as it is a bit tedious to have to navigate between the forum and main page. I understand the disabling of comments but I feel like adding this slight tweak would definitely make surfing the website a bit more fluid.

It's on the left in that gray box, right above the Facebook and Twitter buttons (I think)

Or on the main page it's right under "read more"

That's really strange. For me it's right above that Twitter button on the left. I'd recommend asking Jason, that's weird.

CTRL+F5. I had clear the cache for them to show up.

On the homepage they show up when you mouse over the dividing line. On the articles it shows up above Twitter/FB.

  17. It'd be nice if sticky threads were sorted first by threads you've posted in, instead of however they're ordered right now. Speaking of, how are they ordered?

For example, in Technology, there's a bunch of stickied threads I wish I didn't always have to scroll past to get down to programming (which I post in often).

I would assume they're ordered by time of last post.

  19. I forgot those were still sticky. Not really needed in that forum due to its relatively slow pace. And yeah, it's by last post time by default. Clicking the headers or using the display options at the bottom of the page can change that.

We need a tech forum moderator and I'm still sorting through all that. Still interested in that @Jacob Tender? Haha.

Hey Jason, I really like that when you click on a YT link, it opens up full screen, and you can scroll between videos, but have you considered having it open up on a different page? Usually on music sites, I like having music on in the background while I check out other news postings. I realize I can click+shift to open it in a new tab, but it might be a deterrent for people to engage with other stuff.

  22. I think that the variety of options (right click → new tab, shift click, view it in the replies by hitting read more - in a new tab or not) allows there to be a variety of ways to view a video depending on a member's preference of how and where they watch the video ... plus it adds the ability to watch it from the homepage without having to open another page or go somewhere else if they so choose. I think having multiple options is better than just sending someone into the article page to watch a video.

can we PLEASE bring back alt + s to post?

  24. It works right now. Chrome won't let you use it if your cursor is in the box though, but if you click outside of the text box and hit alt+s, it will work. However, I recommend tab and then enter instead. Much more universally used paradigm. And it works.

    Good to know. Thanks.

That was all I used on the old site. I'll give the new combo a try.
