Honestly, if you're willing to do that, it'd help me out a lot. I had the main guitars and a scratch vocal done for my cover when the comp was announced, but have struggled to find time to finish it as I've been really busy the past few weeks. I was gonna try and record the final vocal tracks today but woke up really stuffy and with a cough.

 

If we're going to do that, I might record a second song.

 

Another week would be super helpful for me, personally. Last week was finals week for me. And on top of that I was sick with a really sore throat, so I couldn't sing anyway.

How does this need to be sent in? MP3 format to a designated email?

 

Ideally, a .wav file to [email protected] but any format is fine because Brad can convert it.

 

Guess I'll hold onto mine a little longer in case I want to tweak it before the 27th!

 

Can we send previously released covers to comps? I was planning on putting one of my FOB songs onto YouTube today, but then the comp release date got moved. Also, I'm planning on recording a lot more on my own time next year, so for example, I might put out something in February from a band we eventually decide to do in May. If it matters, the number of views I have on any of my videos is like 15 at most.

 

I don't see any reason why not. As long as you recorded it.

I'm super excited to hear your song.

First, your voice is going to sound great doing this song. Second, I know you're going to change up the feel of the groove. Third, I picked the song before this on the album so whenever I finish my cover I'm expecting this song to start.

Put me back on. Glad I saw that the date got moved. I can record it this week. I'm writing my final paper for the semester right now the moment I'm done I'll get started.

 

Ahhhhh I've been submitting covers I've been getting done early and still submitting them to the comp. I already have 2 covers done for next month.

I think the only thing you have to be careful of is that you are the first person to call the song you covered. Otherwise you are SOL.

 

Through all the covers I have planned for the best of 2016 compilation, there is only one song I want to do. So I will literally be camping out to call it out.
