Yea, the only reason I can't fully ignore the prequels anymore is because it gave us the Clone Wars. I really wish they could have just finished that series out. I recently watched the unfinished story reels, they were great.

Finished reading Tarkin yesterday. It was fine, but felt a lot more like a Vader book. Looking forward to getting to Catalyst soon. But really looking forward to seeing Rogue One tomorrow morning!

I'm so glad I read Catalyst before seeing Rogue One. It really does enhance the movie.

I had planned to, just didn't finish Tarkin as soon as I thought I would have.

You don't need to see the film, but I recommend you get to it eventually! It's a solid book on its own as well, but some of the character relationships just make more sense after having read it.

Sitting in the theater for the movie now. I'll likely start the book next week.

Rewatching the Mandalore episodes of Clone Wars to prepare for possible Rebels connections, and I just realized that Dutchess Satine is totally a reference to Moulin Rouge with Ewan McGregor playing Obi-Wan and Christian who love women named Satine. How did I miss that all these years?!?!?

I missed it because I've never seen Moulin Rouge.

It's actually upsetting when people call for the total erasure of the prequels. I still think there is a lot salvageable from them. I invested a lot of time into exploring the world Lucas expanded upon in the films, whether it was the Streets of Theed, the Jedi Temple, or getting to know the Clones and the Jedi Order. Star Wars ain't just for you.

The Clone War itself was interesting and the series and spin offs and characters that came from that were great. It was cool to finally see the "war" side of Star Wars, large armies clashing and doing rogue operations and all sorts of battles on interesting planets.

Everything else is ehhhhh. The RedLetterMedia videos that eviscerated the prequels really did kind of put the nail in the coffin for me. But I can still watch 1 and 3 and be somewhat entertained.

I stumbled upon a spoiler for the second half of s3 of Rebels.

Saw will be involved in some way. There was a promo photo at some store and someone put it online. It shows a much younger looking Saw with the quote "save the rebellion. Save the dream." He looks way younger which is weird since Rebels is only a couple years away from Rogue One.

  13. Has anyone read Bloodline? Worth it?

Absolutely! It's a fantastic Leia story. I am a big fan of Claudia Gray thanks to that and Lost Stars.

  15. So more so than Aftermath?

    Waaaaay better than Aftermath.

  17. You read the second one?

Yup. I thought the second one was better, it also helped that going into it I didn't have expectations that the big three would be main players. I was able to enjoy it for what it was. Although, it oddly has incredibly similar plot points to some Legends books.

I like Bloodline/Lost Stars more because Claudia Gray just seems to write stronger characters and really lets you dive into what they are thinking and going through.

rewatched TFA because im on a Rogue One high and god I love both of these movies. Its so great to finally have both a great prequel and a great continuation to the OT.

That moment when Finn sees Poe is still alive and they hug, then Poe tells him his jacket suits Finn :,)

  22. Watching ANH tonight. What a great movie. Been too long since I'd done a trilogy watch. It fits after RO really well.

I re-watched it earlier today after seeing Rogue One again last night. It made the entirety of ANH feel way more dire. You know exactly what was sacrificed to get those plans inside R2-D2 so everything feels like it has more weight in it. Sooooo dope

Excited for Rebels to start back up Looks like we're getting Saw Gerrera when the season starts back up, with Forrest Wittaker doing the voice.
