Y'all listen to any good Christian music this year? I've been slow on music in general, but Lecrae's Church Clothes 3 and Crowder's American Prodigal were both great. The new Relient K, too. Didn't listen to either Gungor album yet.

Really enjoyed Relient K this year.

That's the only Christian music I listened to this year. Didn't pay much attention to this side of music.

i’ve been meaning to tell you

Loved the Gungor records. RK is in my top 5 for the year. I also really loved Audrey Assad's Inheritance. I don't usually dig hymns but she did a phenomenal job. That's pretty much all the Christian music I listened to this year.

Crap, I love Audrey Assad but totally forgot about that one. I'm gonna have to get on that ASAP!

    The rivalry is back on

Paper Route, King's Kaleidoscope, NEEDTOBREATHE, Future of Forestry, the last Gungor album, and Relient k are my favorite Christian/Christian leaning albums this year (off the top of my head)

From Small Seeds Come Giant Trees by DENS and Relativity by Archabald are two really obscure Christian indie rock releases that may both end up in my top 10 of the year.

Citizens & Saints released one of my favorite worship records in years this year. Kings Kaleidoscope is super good too. And now I'm finally coming around to Switchfoot's newest record.

    I do not exist.

Rivers & Robots, a great little worship band from Manchester UK, put out a really good worship album this year. The Eternal Son. Worth checking out.

I've also listened to Relient K, King's Kaleidoscope and Bethel Music. There's been quite a few EPs as well: United Pursuit, My Epic, Everything In Slow Motion.

I'll add so long forgotten's final album to the conversation, which was phenomenal but mainly focussed on doubt, questioning and perhaps turning their back on faith.

Trying to figure out my end of year list but it's a pretty hard year with no 'definite'.

  8. C&S album is superb, and that's coming from a guy who hated the last album.

Of everything I've heard, the best Christian albums of the year are easily Citizens & Saints, Wolves at the Gate, and Sho Baraka. The live worship album by Keith and Kristyn Getty was also great. I really liked the House of Heroes and Relient K albums, but neither stuck with me for very long.

    Fight the long defeat.

I'll throw in another vote for Kings Kaleidoscope, Citizens & Saints, Sho Baraka, and Relient K. I've spent the least time with The Narrative, but loved each of the others.

NEEDTOBREATHE and Relient K were the biggest ones for me. KK was ok, and House of Heroes didn't last much with me.

  16. Just finished Awakened to the Sound, the latest from Future of Forestry.

Really nice. Other than the last two songs, this is probably the most I've enjoyed a FoF release since the Travel trilogy.

So much to catch up on! Hahaha.

First of all...man. Never thought I'd see Keith and Kristyn Getty mentioned in a Chorus.fm thread. Love them. Had tickets to to see them last Monday in Atlanta but had too much school to do!

House of Heroes' new record has declined in likability for me as the year's gone on. The band is tight, I just feel like the album as a whole is a bit of a mess. I feel like with Colors, HoH has finally released their equivalent to albums like New Surrender or I'm Only a Man (a.k.a. albums from bands I love that just felt like a weird misstep).

    Air For Free
on the other hand is my AOTY. I LOVE that record.

I like Sho Baraka's new album okay, but it needs more time. As far as rap goes, Eshon Burgundy's The Passover is incredible. Definitely my favorite record to come out of Christian rap since JGivens released Fly Exam last year.

It takes a few listens to wrap your head around what's going on. I've really grown to love the record. Have you checked out DENS yet?

I actually bought the high quality version and felt a little underwhelmed. Weirdly so because it really did sound incredible. But that was election night so I have to go back and listen without that oppressive cloud hanging over me.
