It's funny on Reddit they all hate Patrick Stump's contribution to the album but they circle jerk over San Diego. Doesn't add up lol

  3. I don't know guy's, it finally hit me today that I just hope Tom gets his shit together and rejoins Blink. I guess I'm jealous Matt is giving Blink all of his attention and giving you guys something to be happy about while I just here and wait for a Trio album ha.

Entertainment Weekly called this one of the worst albums of the year. Seems a bit extreme.

I want both blink and trio albums. I'd be happy with getting a trio album after the deluxe edition of California. I'd like to see some more from what they can do together, but I also love trio and want to see what they do next, especially coming off of other projects.

as for tom, I think he has his shit together, it's just not blink. the doc/vr experience that he did with nasa about mars just released it's teaser and it looks awesome. he's doing really cool stuff and I for one am excited to see what he does.

Since they're writing/recording a bunch of new stuff does anybody wish they just wouldn't release a deluxe edition? I think it'd be smarter to keep writing new songs until they have a full album's length rather than add some songs to the end of California that weren't from the same sessions

  7. They want that cash money.

I think it depends, if the songs are an extension of what they were doing with California it makes sense to go with a deluxe. if the songs are a different spectrum than everything on California then yeah it's a little weird and will feel a bit weird. I'll probably just treat the new songs as an EP anyway haha.

Trio is still my number one band and I don't want Tom anywhere near blink. The only time I've listened to Dogs Eating Dogs in the last two years was right before California came out, and Tom's Angels sound in blink does nothing for me now. I do understand your jealousy though lol.

  10. Like I like California, It has some great songs, it has some good songs and it has some pretty forgettable ones as well. I feel like after hearing San Diego this band could have put out an album with tons of great material. I don't know, I guess with Matt at the helm for this record I expected something super great.

I really like California and i don't really skip anything except for Los Angeles, but i love the bridge haha. but there are certain songs on this album where I'm like, man, they found that strength of writing together, so I'm really looking forward to hearing more from them because I wonder what new blink's sophomore effort will sound like.

  12. See, I feel like San Diego gave me that feeling, I mean that song to me is a top 10 Blink song. So, yea the next record certainly could be fucking great.

Trio is my favorite band, and I've missed having them around, but I'm confident in Matt's ability to balance both bands. Plus, it's just so awesome to see Matt experience success on this level, and I'd like for that to continue.

  14. I want his success to continue as well, I'm proud of the guy.

absolutely. that, Cynical, and Left Alone are the songs where I'm like, that's the direction I'd like to see the band go in.

Cynical is what I've been waiting for from this band. I wish they would open up with that then go into Feeling This.

Left Alone is great too. That song, to me, is the "Stay Together For The Kids" track on the album. And SOOHM is the First Date, ha.

San Diego is a jam though (That bridge is straight up Alkaline Trio). I would not mind if they went in the direction they did with San Diego and Left Alone.

There's four songs that are top tier blink to me, San Diego, Cynical, Bored To Death and Left Alone. I enjoy the whole record but they tried too hard to make a blink record by template to a degree, but it makes sense that they had to. I really think the next record will be considerably better cause they can be more natural about songwriting.

Matt has always done the side projects, this one will definitely require a little more attention, it seems worse since My Shame came out a decent amount before they even started this blink project. I fully expect as long as they keep making Trio records, there will be a more normal lag time between them after the next one comes out.

  18. If I recall doesn't Trio normally take a pretty lengthy break between albums ? I remember it took some time for Agony to come out.

I'm the reverse of you guys lol. I've always liked Trio (they're in my top 10 bands for sure), and especially Skiba, but Blink-182 has been my favorite band for a LONG period of my life. I was unsure of a Tom-less Blink but being a fan of Skiba I had faith and it paid off in a major way. I love California; Cynical, BTD, Sober, No Future, LA are all amazing songs to me and while I love trio, I'm not complaining seeing my favorite band finally FINALLY so active with new music and tours and getting the attention they deserve lol.

I really like Cali. I think it's a great blink record. Cynical, bored to death, and San Diego are all time greats IMO. Was always a Tom guy back in the day but also a huge A3 fan. Matt is the only one who can pull this off I think. Give them a min and they will deliver for us. Ps. Give blink a grammy... please.
