I do think there is value in "critically" explaining why you think a game isn't good (or not completely good)

 

I'm not asking anyone to feel like that or leave the thread! I just think the video is pointless and if something is posted, there's gonna be a discussion about it. I don't appreciate the way people have approached this particular discussion and considering how this went down last time, I didn't see the reason why else it was being posted. I think people have been particularly dismissive and ignorant of what I've been saying time and time again, and haven't bothered to acknowledge that or apologize, but I'm not leaving. It just seemed really off and particular, and of all the videos you posted the watch dogs one.

 

Nobody's saying otherwise. I've tried to discuss critically, but others have been dismissive or have said "well what about x or y" like some kinda gotcha.

But yeah, the video was overtly negative and touched on a topic that was pretty much finished, and it very much came across as shitting on a game. I would gladly have a discussion about any game, but that video really doesn't contribute a whole lot to the discussion at all. But I don't think you should leave a thread, disagreements happen, but swooping in after the discussion had settled with a video that didn't add a whole lot seemed odd.

 

All of Zero's videos are like that, what a weird thing to get mad at.

It blows me mind the shit Ubi gets but barely anyone is giving shit to other companies. I mean hell, I enjoy the game, but FFXV did an absolutely god awful job with the little female characters they have.

 

We're told it's a problem with the industry (it is!) and then those same people single out ubi lol

 

Exactly. The only company that ever gets singled out, the company that's at least making somewhat of an effort. It's just blind hate towards a company they don't like as much as the others.

 

Pretty sure companies like EA and Activision get shit on plenty by the gaming world at large and in here too but okay, go die on that hill then.

 

I've never once seen either of those companies talked about when it comes to inclusiveness in this thread. Maybe I missed it, but once a week it seems there's a new issue with Ubi, but others go not talked about, FFXV being a glaring example of a game that is absolutely awful for that topic.

 

Also have not seen the issue of representation brought up wrt ea or activision. If you'd like to point me to those discussions that'd be cool, because I can point you to the discussion on ubi where you ignored a WOC about their representation

 

So many people, including me, made a huge deal about FFXV and no female characters for like a year after the trailer was released.

 

I don't keep my ear completely to the ground but I hadn't seen people singling out only Ubi. That's news to me. I believe yall tho

 

I have never singled out Ubisoft in the way you guys are implying. My original post about WD 2:

Lightning then replied to me and cited "its commentary on social issues and politics" as one of the strengths of the game, to which I mentioned their poor treatment of a POC character. I agreed with Lightning that the diversity of the cast in WD 2 is great and we also agreed that the death of a certain character was very poorly handled/shouldn't have happened. I've also softened my view on how they handle certain issues in the game since the discussion the other day, so I thought it was a worthwhile conversation as I actually got something from it. So there's no disagreement on that topic. No one was singling out Ubisoft, it's just that the discussion was literally about one of their games.

The only place where I disagree with Lightning is in terms of the actual gameplay of Watch Dogs 2. I don't think it's that great. That's all.

 

As a download? I've been wanting to play LO for years, but physical copies aren't easy to find, and it's never been available on the xbox marketplace.

 

I took that upfront as criticism in general but okay, be like that.

 

darkhotline absolutely singled them out when he said "well I'm taking this with a grain of salt because ubi is bad"

 

Lost Odyssey is one of the best games of all time. It's Final Fantasy with 360 gen graphics and one of the most emotional stories I've ever seen.

 

I still am in ch2 of FFXV... just have no will to comeback to that thing atm
