Oh yeah. His is the only AOTY nom this year that I really care for, so he's definitely the one I'm rooting for.

If anyone is looking for a good country-specific EOTY list, the list from Rolling Stone Country does a pretty good job of picking out the best albums in the genre this year.

Is Lucinda William's new record not on Apple Music? The internet tells me it is, but I'm not finding it.

  5. I remember looking for it on spotify a few times earlier this yr to no avail

  6. Never thought I'd type these words and I'm still not ready to say them out loud but...what I've heard from Miranda Lambert's new record sounds really good

Let me know if you want recs based on what you haven't heard. I can vouch for a lot of the albums on that list.

This is tough. I've only been listening to them for a little over a year but I've definitely listened to the first few and Most Messed Up way more than the mid 00s ones, so this could change depending on what I've listened to lately

1 - Too Far To Care
    2 - Fight Songs
    3 - Most Messed Up
    4 - Satellite Rides
    5 - Hitchhike to Rhome
    6 - Wreck Your Life

I guess the other four kind of blend together since I haven't spent as much time with them.

The ones I haven't listened to but have interest in are John Paul White and Carrie Rodriguez.

Gravity is a very close blend of their alt-country and power-pop sounds, Grand Theatre is great, just not as great as the others, mostly hard country stuff and Drag It Up is mostly mediocre - "Won't Be Home," "The New Kid," "Bloomington" are good but you won't be missing much at a show if you've never listened to any but "Won't Be Home."

The The Record Company record is not one that immediately screamed "country" to me, I wouldn't necessarily have thought of it for this list, but it's a great album. A very classic rock sound, almost bluesy, with some very good songs on there.

I haven't been able to get into the Jonny Fritz record myself, it seems, no matter how many times I listen.

Won't Be Home is fantastic though

I've listened to them all, just those four less than the others
