been out of weed for over a month and everything got so bad that i bought cigarettes for the 2nd time in seven years.

 

it probably sounds messed up but weed was the bridge to getting to know my pops a lot better lol. hes was literally on his own since he was 13 and a street dude and im some sensitive artsy kid he had we had a hard time getting to "connect" til we smoked together and let that just be a gateway to sharing stories lol.

 

Idk if it's the area (I don't think it is - suburbia with a small city 10 minutes away) but I got like 1st/2nd/3rd strings lol #bless

 

I suppose I would have strings if I wasn't so spoiled literally living with my plug, ha.

 

yeah idk if I could do a career where I couldn't smoke weed. S/o to Computer Science

 

my girl has strings, as does numerous of my friends, seems very convenient. my brother is usually very timely, solid stuff, gives me a discount and is generous with the amounts regardless what i get so i never branched out.

I love my vaporizer (arizer extreme q) it's easier on the lungs than smoke, it helps conserve herb, and I enjoy the whole ritual of grinding, and preheating.

Glass bowls for my bong are always breaking, and breaking my heart in the process.

Anyone had any luck making edibles?

Last time I tried to make a small batch (a smidge more than a cup) of coconut oil with about a half Oz. of some very good purp. Used the double boiler method. I ground it all up and decarbed it before keeping it on Lowish heat for 4 hours, stirring every few minutes, so I thought it would be strong stuff, but I only got a mild body high from it.

It was a long lasting body high, but nothing like what other people I've talked to have experienced with edibles, so I'm wondering what I did wrong. Does metabolism matter? cause mine is on the slower side.

I've only made edibles twice and they came out "too strong" each time. What I do is melt 2 sticks of butter, then sprinkle in somewhere between an 8th and a quarter in while stirring. Then I just stir it for a good 45 mins. It will look black. Not sure if that is because of the THC or because I'm burning the bud (I've read conflicting arguments. Long story short: there are probably way better ways of doing it, but this way has proven to make my face numb, burst into uncontrollable laughter, and melt through floors and couches, so I've stuck with it. I should also mention that I've always used high grade shit.

 

My overly paranoid self will be here in spirit.

 

I just put liberal amounts on popcorn, waffles, and toast. Didn't bother with making any baked goods once I realized it wasn't very strong oil. Tried to potentiate it by eating a mango before the second time I ate some, and that kinda helped.

Was really good herb (a bong rip made me feel like my brain was dipped in warm wax), and i've heard of people using less bud (like a quarter) and getting stellar results.

Thought I was being hyper vigilant about Temps, but yeah, I probably wasted some cannabinoids with the initial, unnecessary, decarb.

 

Your method sounds way less time consuming and labor intensive than what I tried.

 

I went with coconut oil because it's higher in fat than butter, and should theoretically give all the various psychoactive goodness more to bind with, at least that's what I was lead to believe.

Only edibles i've tried have been my own experiments. Stores are finally opening up around here so that will change in the next few days.

I really hope the issue isn't my metabolism. I too want to get the giggles and melt into the couch, haha.

my parents use coconut oil. cook it up, let it set and then break it off piece by piece and put it into their coffee. I tried some of it last time I was home, but their proportions were off (or they used less than great weed) so it wasn't as strong as it usually is, according to dad. however, as someone who likes coffee and a bowl (apples don't fall far and stuff), it was still pretty sweet hah

That is what I originally thought, but my cousin said my brownies tasted burnt. Then again, he could have been talking about the actual brownies being burnt and not the weed. idk we were high af and that is all that matters in the end lol.
