If I did have a kid I'd only want one but man I can't stand every only child I know. I have a few that I'm friends with but we butt heads a lot because I find them to be rude and they think I'm too passive

I don't think I know anyone that's an only child? There's no way I could possibly raise a rude kid though. I secretly wanna make a prodigy out of my kid but I'm not gonna force them to do a bunch of stuff. If I make enough money though I'm sending them to private school.

Ya I won't force them to do anything they don't want to. I think recognizing your kids agency is insanely important to their development. Academics is really gonna the only thing I'll be pushing hard on. I think every kid loves learning, it just depends on how it's presented to them.

Growing up I always wished I was an only child because I spent too much time feeling like I had to live in the shadow of my older sister and could never truly break out and be myself because she was super popular and I was just known as her little sister. Man, thank God I'm an adult now. Teenagerdom sucks.

I have no desire to have kids. Maybe it's because I'm not 100% financially stable yet, but I just don't think I'm going to want any. The idea of adding that much stress and worry to my life is terrifying

 

Overpopulation is going to become one of our absolute biggest issues in the next 2 decades. Thankfully the US has a shit bunch of undeveloped land.

I went to spin an old favorite from high school today while running errands and forgot how much I had attached some of those songs to the 'what-if?' person from my life and it really kind of bummed me the fuck out. Probably doesn't help that it's been gray and super snowy the last couple of days either, but it's caught me off guard.

 

attending wedding with the ex was insufferable. i thought maybe there was a chance that we could work things out with time and space....but im pretty dead set that i wont ever get back with him. he also admitted he cheated multiple times, although denying it for years, so byeeeeeeeeee forever. seven years down the drain. good times.

 

I am counting down the days until I can move out of my ex's house. I never imagined to feel this way but I don't think I'll be speaking to him afterwards. We tried to be friends the past few months but it's just not working.
On the other hand I have been spending so much time with the guy I'm always vague-posting about. We have kind of slipped into this weird pseudo domesticity that gets popped every now and again when I am jarringly reminded that we aren't really anything. Just a girl falling hopelessly for a douchecanoe that doesn't want anything haha.
Also I need to stop going on okc/tinder when I'm sad. I end up talking to people/giving out my number and then pretty much immediately regretting it. I can't be bothered to put effort into meeting new people and starting something new because all of my dumb energy is going into this dumb boy that is a dead end.

So I had a bit of a thing for a girl I play dodgeball with. Asked her out a while ago and she said yes, she then, literally the next day, moved away for four weeks for a teaching placement. The first time I saw her after she got back, was our Dodgeball team Christmas night out.
Made out a bunch during our very drunken night out, but upon speaking to her the next day, it turns out that literally, two days after I asked her out, her ex started talking to her, and they're now "pretty much getting back together".
Pretty typical of my timing.

 

crushing on someone seriously and not having any avenue of pursuing it because you only know them through mutual friends is a miserable experience

 

Mutual friends is a massive avenue. If you actually like this person jut ask your friend "Would you ask [insert name here] if they would like to go for going for a drink or some food at some point"
Worst thing that happens is your friend asks and they say no. Best case, they say yes. Mid ground, they say "Maybe if i get to know them. Can I get their number."

Ultimately, nothing can really go wrong, you get to avoid any situations which could be awkward by making your friend the middle man. Just take the risk, ask your friend, you have nothing to loose!

 

My ex is dating someone new now. I'm okay with it obviously, I've distanced myself from her for my own mental health. I'm glad she's moved on, and it finally feels like there's closure to it all now.

 

If/when my girlfriend and I break up I'll be a wreck when she starts dating again. Ahh it's something I dread.

 

I'm doing better than I expected. It's still hard, but it's for the best and I hope she's happy.

I guess it's just hard because I haven't made any attempts to try and put myself back out there to even try and meet someone new.
