I have this same one in black, and I've dropped my phone 100x and it's protected it. The only thing I dont like about it is that I can't see the back of the phone (minor, I know.)

 

Kinda random but it's really surprising to me how many people don't fuck with Otterbox in this thread. I get that they're bulky but I mean I have an iPhone 7 plus with a Defender case and it fits in my pocket fine. A little bulky but it's worth it for the drop protection. I had a six for two years before that with a Defender case and never had a single problem from dropping it. The same is true for my seven plus thus far. They also offer replacements very generously, I had a few scratches on the screen protector and some wear and tear on the cover and they replaced it without even questioning it or asking for proof.

 

Idk, those things look comically huge to me, especially for anything bigger than a 5 (I have the SE). I've bought the same brand/model of case (an Acase with a thin rubber backing that a hard shell clasps over, ~$7) for my past three iPhones and I couldn't love it more.

 

Otterbox case with a screen protector. Why even carry a phone.

 

I'm referring to the screen protector that is a part of the Otterbox...

What case do you use? If any?

 

Currently the Apple leather case.

 

I used to use the apple leather case but it ripped a little after a drop or two. But I do really love the feel of those cases. I just wish I was good enough to not have a case cause of how pretty these phones are lol

 

I don't mind those cases like if they work for what you do, cool. I just dont like the bulk or the feel of the screen protector. But some people, like my brother, NEED that case haha

 

And it has good drop protection? Or are you just extremely careful? Assuming you don't have a screen protector. Honestly makes me anxious just thinking about it. The phone is far to expensive to run such risks.

 

yeah I mean a ton of the time I am just sitting on my recliner using my phone as though it was a laptop, so for me the bulkiness of the phone when in the case in my pocket isn't too much of a concern because I just don't really go out much lol.

 

I've got cement floors and it's been fine. The leather cushions any drops well. I've never used a screen protector, I think they're gross. I'm also careful, and have Apple Care. I'd rather use Apple Care if anything happens than make my phone look like a giant brick with a grimy screen. I might as well have saved the money and bought some cheap Android if I wanted that. I'm also a crazy person, and I get that, but I don't get the giant huge cases that make the phones look like they're about to transform and fight Decepticons.

 

haha fair enough. Different strokes. I am very clumsy and when I was younger I used to break everything I came into contact with, so for me the Otterbox just makes more sense, even if it's not necessarily practical.

 

Haha, that's fair. Everyone should do what they feel comfortable with and like the best. I value how it feels in my hand and looks more than I do the chance I'll drop it.

 

Juts picked up the leather case a few days ago and I love it. Between that and the battery replacement it feels like I have a brand new phone. Which is good because I want to use this thing for like 3 more years at least.

 

Taking my 6S in to get a new battery if it ever comes in. I love Apple, but fuck. You'd think they'd have perfected the battery by now..

True, but I always seem to get the lemon's. Happened with my 5S too.

Battery replacement program Pt. 2

 

I'd love to get a brand new battery. Would extend the phone's lifetime. Don't understand the complaints.

 

An otterbox scuffed the glass on my 5, I don't think I'd buy one again

 

Have had an otter box on my 6 since day one. Definitely get why people don't like them but I love it. I drop the phone way too often to not have a bulky protective case.

 

I have a Lifeproof case, but I only use that when I'm out snowboarding or hiking. I had a Lander Powell case on my 6, which was unfortunately lost this fall, and my replacement until it's time for an upgrade is a 5s, which they don't make a case for :(

 

My iPhone is a QN serial number, so not part of the recall, but has been dying suddenly around 8% quite often. Hmm...

 

Still have the original apple leather case on my iphone 6 2 years ago. honestly think i could use this phone for the next 4 years haha
