Super unpopular opinion I like "Confessions Pt I" more than "Confessions Pt II"

Both are great though

 

i still have never listened to deftones

I never listened because people always talked about them and Korn and Disturbed and now I'm in too deep.

 

the first couple deftones albums leaned nu metal but were never like straight up nu metal and then after that they just became a super atmospheric but still heavy hard rock/metal band

You should listen to them because they are nothing like those other bands, and I used to like Disturbed and Korn when I was a dweeb in high school

deftones is cool but i wish i liked them more

 

Excuse me the only band called the tones are the Mighty Mighty bosses

 

Aside from Adrenaline, DE is my least favorite album by them. Idk, just doesn't excite me as a record even tough it has some of my favorite songs by the band.

 

i think its easily their most cohesive and thematic record besides maybe gore

 

like you can really tell how they were grappling with chi's condition at the time especially in chino's lyrics

Idk I mean I didn't make a comment on its cohesiveness, I think it's fine in that regard. A lot of the ideas presented on the record melodically/instrumentally just don't excite me or *speak to me* or whatever. I've never really been able to articulate it properly (and I'm still not) but it's just not the Deftones record for me.

 

i feel you, it was the first deftones record i ever heard and it immediately made me fall in love with them so thats probably a big part of it for me

 

I didn't care for Deftones at all until DE came out. It did make me wind up appreciating their older stuff a bit more but I still don't think any of it really compares. Pretty much every friend I have loves them though haha

 

If I had a second pick it'd probably be Around The Fur

i hardly ever listen to the last three

I haven't really listened to Gore enough :/ I enjoy it every time I listen but never really feel like putting it on in the first place

 

Deftones has "Minerva" and "Anniversary of an Uninteresting Event" though!!
