A little bit, between the singles and not liking their SNL performance AT ALL, I figured the S/T was probably more my style, but I'll probably give the new one one more try at some point.

Yeah I've seen this sentiment before, certainly open to giving the new one a try

The new one is fairly eclectic, so there's probably something you can find to like there. I still can't get into the self-titled even though I really enjoyed "Chocolate" when it was released as a single, but the album has never done anything for me. The new one though will most likely be in my top 10 (possibly even top 5) for the year.

I definitely think the highs on Acid Rap are higher, but I think the lows are also a bit lower. Both fantastic tapes though.

I think the album truly improves on everything they did well on the S/T and then pushes their sound in new directions, some of which can be attributed to the EPs they've done. I find it to be a fascinating listen every single time I put it on: the lyrical content, the melodies, the musicianship, the layers of sounds and production on the album...it makes for a really rich listen to me.

Part of it too is the personal connection I have with the band and this album in particular. I've been a fan of them since 2013 and the S/T has remained in my listening habits since its release, but it wasn't until around this time last year when I began to fall in love with and take comfort in this band. During a period of my life where I struggled with depression and anxiety, and began telling myself that I wanted to die until I started to believe it (all of which I still struggle with to this day), I was lucky enough to see this band for my first time ever on pretty short notice and I was absolutely captivated by their liver performance that I just couldn't wait for the new album to come out. Now that it has, it has gone far beyond all the high expectations I had for it and has remained in constant rotation since February. This band, and this album in particular, have been a bright light in a very dark time for me. I can't stop recommending this band to others enough and, every time I do, it feels like I'm sharing a piece of myself with others as well.

I don't know what else there is to say about this album, or band, or conversation, but I hope that some of the things I shared, and especially the things that Jake shared, get people to reconsider this band.

Gonna change the topic because expressing an unpopular opinion about that band seems pretty off limits now, suggest everyone back off rather than making ppl uncomfortable

That being said, I think that new Radiohead album is so boring I don't get it, I keep trying

I like a lot of things about the new Radiohead album but as a whole it's pretty disappointing to me. Definitely my least favourite of theirs I've heard.
