When Pedroia goes I'm going to be crushed. He's my last remnant after Papi. Haha

UGH don't even talk to me about Paul. He's even worse, too, because he keeps commenting on Celtic news and saying he might like to coach here and stuff. It's like an ex you still hang out with once in awhile and it just keeps reminding you.

1) Don't get mad...i was calling for them to trade Pedroia this offseason. I swear i love the dude though!

I think there are some things more important than metrics, and having an ambassador for your team, a face in the city is important. Until someone else establishes themselves in this city, I will always believe Pedroia should be here.

 

Totally fair. I was in full rebuild mode and just wanted to get the most value for him. But, he's certainly not the biggest target on my trade list. #GetTheHellOutPanda

 

At this point we may as well keep Panda until he gets mad enough to get back in playing shape. We certainly aren't going to get anything for him at this rate, right?

 

Mazz had a pretty good thought as to how we move him. It was about the Shields rumor. Basically, Henry Owens for James Shields, but you gotta take Panda and we'll eat like half his salary. I could easily live with that deal.

 

I would agree(not only because i'm a Rangers fan), i was just trying to understand his reasoning for announcing his retirement so soon in advance and making a "big" deal about it you know?

I'd toast a beer to Dombrowski. I like Shields more than others, just because he eats innings. And Pablo is just a wasted roster spot to me at this point.

 

I just feel like he burned so many bridges during his career. Which sucks, because i loved him back in Seattle.

I hate seeing guys get chewed up and spit out here (Carl Crawford stands out off the top of my head), but yeah it doesn't seem promising for Panda rn.

 

I think the better way to say it is, I hate seeing marketing teams make baseball decisions. That offseason was such a joke. There was no reason to sign both Hanley and Panda and let Lester walk.

 

Funny story about that...my uncle was excited when he got an A-Roid Rookie card in the M's jersey and talking about how much money it'll be worth. I'm sure it's still worth something but good god I'd hate to admit it haha.
