That first record I thought was pretty boring. I really like either "Sex" or "Chocolate" though

 

For what it's worth I disliked the debut a lot in 2013 and was converted by the incredible new album. After that I started liking the debut outside of like 2 songs

 

It's an ongoing unsolved mystery

 

They changed my life :/ always nice to see ppl shit on a band that's responsible for me literally being alive rn

 

To be fair, there are still Juggalos out there to make you feel better (admittedly I use to be one too lol), their whole existence is "Everyone hates us, them and wishes we'd die off." Actually sort of a source of "their power" lmao.

Worth thinking about any time you (or I or anyone else) publicly shit all over a band. Every band has changed SOMEONE'S life.

Ok. Thought about it. This band still pulled me out of my heroin addiction and I'm still seeing my friends shit on them any chance they get

 

I mean that's the power of music though. Every artist ever has changed someone's life even when others think said artist is not good. Subjective art and what not

All music has a place in the world and it isn't really necessary to shit on people or the bands for sure.
I grew up with my fair share of hated music so I'm sensitive to that.

All art has it's place in this world, but where's theres topics to discuss and enjoy there will always be detractors. Don't let it phase too much. There's always someone to shit in the cereal of anything.

 

Just seems like no one is actually explaining why they don't like them. They just wanna point out they're shit and leave

I don't care about random people so much as the people who know what I went through and know what this band means to me still shitting on them all the time. That sucks. Almost makes me think they don't really care even if they do

I know this feeling. I use to catch flack for being a big Joe Budden fan back in the early 2010's cus of his whole "Emo Rapper" shit he'd catch and he was key to me getting through a lot back then too. Friends got on me about him too. It was a bummer, but (and it's not a real excuse but I noticed myself) not everyone has the comprehension of an artist can mean that much or are well.... just only concerned with their thoughts and feelings on things being out there without a concern for who that might bother lol.

Music to many is seen more like sports and such (the loyalty and argument side I mean) not always so much like religion or politics etc. I always viewed music like faith personally "Believe w/e you want, I respect yours long as you respect mine" - but of course even in that walk or life, people don't always have respect.

idk theres ribbing friends for liking stuff which can be fine but when something as heavy and weighty as what happened to me is involved it kind of becomes unnecessary. like if i was shitting on a band and someone said to me "if it wasnt for this band i wouldnt be alive" id immediately back off and apologize. so when my friends shit on this band its like they cant even appreciate the fact that if it wasnt for this band i wouldnt be around right now.

 

jake, cmon man. im sorry for messing with them so often because, yeah you like them and they helped you out a bunch. but don't act like this isn't akin to you continually shitting on waves by moving mountains - an album that helped me out of pretty bad depression for a long time. cmon. we all like and dislike stuff and should be free to say so, it isn't any reflection on you and the help that the particular release gave you.

 

I've gone through depression, addiction, suicide (the first two still liking to poke me from time to time lol) etc and the relationship with music as well, I understand the realm you're coming from as well. I guess the slight divide for me is I don't expect much perspective from most people lol. I agree with ya about respecting the importance absolutely though.
