Yes...but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts

Did Jesse not say on stage before their touring break last fall that we'd have a new album before the next (spring 2016) tour, or I am bugging? Swear he said that at some point, whether it was a video on AP.net or at the Ommegang show.

From what I remember him saying it was just wishful thinking. "Hopefully we will have some new music for you guys by that time"

Yeah basically this. I still think it means we will have at least a new song or two on the upcoming tour though

Holding out hope! At this point though, wishful thinking from Brand New holds as much weight as deserts hold water.

At least we know we are getting new Thrice and I am actually quite looking forward to the new Saosin as well.

Yeah I'm optimistic for the Saosin.. But totally ready for Thrice and also new Kevin Devine, All Get Out and Manchester is in the studio. So even if we didn't get anything (which we will) still a great year for music. (Again we WILL get something)

Oh yeah I forgot about All Get Out. And tbh I'm also excited for new Sum 41, Radiohead and KONGOS.

Same! O'brother, Showbread, Into It. Over it., and Brian Fallon have already been such a treat. But new Thrice, Norma Jean, Saosin, Oh Sleeper, '68, Deftones, The Killers, letlive, The Devil Wears Prada, +many more? Record labels and venues will have liens on my income before 2016 is out.

And while I'm at it I might as well mention Owel and Halos lol. They are more obscure/up and coming but they are also among my most anticipated releases of the year for sure.

Forgot about Deftones! Yeah 2016 is quite the year. Got the new O'Bro to tide me over nicely while i wait for the rest. Still digesting that one.

    Prestigious Prestigious

Did anyone archive that one epic brand new thread from when the lyric books started showing up last year? That was insane. Pretty sure that was may last year.

I think that was happening in April. May could be right too though.

    forbidden chalice.

It was sometime around late March/early April. I made a huge Tumblr post with my speculations, roughly explaining the situation for those uninformed, and it's still getting notes til this day. I went to check the post right now, and I made it on April 4th, so it should be right around that time frame since I religiously followed the AP thread about it since day one.

Pretty sure it showed up on my Timehop a day or two ago? Something about it, but I'm not exactly sure what.

Was hoping something obscure (but official) would start happening this year around the same time, but I'm not holding to that hope.

Thanks for the replies. I did not know of these recordings. Had just seen choppy videos on YouTube up until this point.

I guess if there was a one on one situation, I might pose the question to them.

Two of their best songs IMO.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

Just listening to some of the Archive stuff. This is one of my favorite versions of You Won't Know. Just earth-shattering screams. What a song to open this set with.

Here's the full set, I highly recommend downloading this one: Southside Festival 2009 — 6/20/09

In other Brand New related news Aaron Paul's sister is having a baby named Bowie. 2016 year of the baby Bowies.

In a mood for Daisy today.

This record has grown on me so much over the years. I liked it at release, but now it's in the "love" category.

Anybody else going to the Chicago show on 7/2? Coming in from Cleveland for it. Trying to figure out the best hotel situation to easily get to the venue, but enjoy the city a bit.

I def agree with that. It's been the same for me. Although TDAG is still their best work my go to BN album is now Daisy when I want to listen to a full album but don't get me wrong I still spin TDAG often too. Their first 2 records tho eh not so much anymore but once and awhile.
