I've actually never played either

But if you asked me what game I'd rather get free this month I and many others would pick Unravel

I almost got it at launch and at multiple different times this year and have yet to pull the trigger

 

I don't buy many games anymore due to finances but I'd eat sandwiches for a month to buy that Day 1

 

they do, its a great game that is universally acclaimed. if you like platformers youll love it, its a blast

 

Unravel was fun. Cute, great setting, with some frustrating platforming issues here and there.

 

took me a bit to get the hang of the yarn mechanic and having to pick up more yarn could get annoying and resulted in me getting stuck quite a bit

 

Loved Unravel to death

 

Yeah, I'd get stuck here and there like an inch away from the next checkpoint, and more yarn. Got frustrating. But overall a great little game.

The way Austin Walker talks about FFXV on today's episode of Waypoint Radio makes we want to play it. Luckily I'm trapped in a neverending circle of broken Xbox Ones, helps me save money.

 

Since I have never played a Final Fantasy game (not even watched a playthrough of one) will that negatively impact me playing the new one?

No, I feel like it could positively impact since you'll have no preconceptions of what FF should be. Play it man, get on the FF train, it's a special train.

 

So the story and characters aren't something I should be concerned about? Hate to be playing a game where I haven't a clue what is going on.

 

Every Final Fantasy game is a new story with new characters. You'll know as much as I do, ha.
