Honestly, not much. The way everyone hypes it up, I figure I'll give the second one a go.

The art style is what really hurts it for me. I'm just not a fan of it at all. The story is fine, though.

The art is what I love about it but I like a more modern style with clean lines and vibrant colors

I think The Flash is becoming one of my favorite characters. Read the latest trade and Flashpoint today. The basically covered the same type of material, with Zoom and what not, but were both really enjoyable. Latest Suicide Squad trade wasn't great, but I loooooved the art. Might read Space Ghost next.

    I should be doing homework...

If you've seen the movie, it is the exact same, albeit a few characters didn't make it into the film.

I wish there were more Flash artists that I really liked besides Francis Manapul and the classic Silver Age material. All I own is the first New 52 trade, which was great, but it's hard to go further when so much of it doesn't particularly appeal to me visually. Even Ethan Van Sciver, whose Green Lantern I generally like, doesn't draw Flash in the original Flash Rebirth in a way that makes me want to buy that comic. The current artist that a lot of people dig doesn't click with me, either. Maybe eventually I'll buy and read all the Manapul material and a lot of Silver Age stuff, and then give in and dive into more Flash stuff.

That's honestly my biggest problem with Wonder Woman I've flipped through Rucka's collections and hate hate hate most of the art.

I like Wonder Woman art more often than Flash (I think I just have a more specific vision in mind for what I want from that character), but I do still feel you on that. Though, after seeing Diana drawn by Cliff Chiang, Renae De Liz, and (in New Frontier) Darwyn Cooke, everything else really falls short, lol.

I do like the art in Rucka's Hiketeia story. Forget who illustrated that. It's pretty standard comic art but serves the story pretty well.

I've been going through Hickman's Fantastic 4 run recently and am really loving the series a lot more than I thought I would. I heard it was great from a few people, but the FF have never been a group I've had must interest in, but I've been blown away with how fast I have gotten invested in the story. I've also never read much with Valeria and Franklin, but they are quickly becoming characters I love to learn about. Plus the letters pages with them are hysterical.

Hickman singlehandedly made me a Fantastic Four fan, and also singlehandedly made Reed Richards one of my favorite Marvel characters. Valeria is also fantastic; I love that she's Reed's intellect mixed with the complete immaturity of the child that she is, with a pinch of Doom's evil popping up every now and then. I'm gonna have to reread that run myself someday... after working through some more of the mountains of unread material I own, lol.

When you're done, if you haven't yet, read Hickman's whole Avengers/New Avengers epic, including the Infinity event and culminating in the excellent Secret Wars event. Reed Richards is central to New Avengers and Secret Wars.

Speaking of rereading, I reread Pretty Deadly vol. 1 tonight. It's a lot easier to read upon your second try, but man is it a wild world. I'll have to revisit the second arc soon. When they eventually finish all the arcs they have planned for this series, it'll be an interesting one to tackle in one day. Which reminds me, I wonder when the next arc will come out. Hopefully won't have to wait too far into next year for it.

That's my plan since it's all on Marvel Unlimited. I read Secret Wars and enjoyed it but am definitely aware I missed a lot thematically since I hadn't read FF and his Avengers. What I'm enjoying so far is being knowingly lost on a lot of things, but also knowing it's gonna be explained and enjoying the journey anyways. Not many runs nowadays allow for the long game when it comes to storytelling and it's amazing to read when done well.

Oh yeah, I remember that feeling, lol. I recall the second arc essentially being a handful of unrelated issues each setting up a different piece for the future. Everything resolves perfectly, but there are stretches where you just have to tuck information away and keep moving forward.

It's one of the best series out there right now. The world building is incredible and I love how it's almost an anthology with these characters. Really can't wait for the next one. Took entirely too long to get He second arc.

Just to let you know there's a couple of other cool shops to go to. I'd say check out the Strand next to Forbidden Planet near NYU. The Strand has a great selection and it's usually cheaper than Forbidden planet. The comic book section is on the second floor, so check there before you head out to Forbidden Planet. They have a ton of superhero stuff along with non-superhero stuff.
