Cool to see this doing well. I wanted to check it out this weekend but I’ve been sick. Hopefully soon!

  2. Oh yeah, that one did look interesting. I'll see if I can catch it in between Wolfman, Presence, Companion, and Wicked this month

Truly no need to see Wolfman.

Really? I liked The Invisible Man and it looked fun

Insane that JJ didn’t establish a proper Cloververse, but instead just glued it on to other movies. So many things he could have done with it, but that statement probably applies to anything he’s ever done.

But maybe you’ll like it! Not like there’s anything else hitting theaters worth much this month.

I’ve always wanted a good modern werewolf movie and it never happens lol

  11. I liked Sanctuary (Christopher Abbott) and The Royal Hotel (Julia Garner) so I was hoping to at least see good performances from those two?

iirc, there's still a proper sequel/spinoff of the OG film still in development (although i really do love 10 Cloverfield Lane, and i low-key have a soft spot for Paradox)

glad it’s doing well but I’ve seen this trailer 250 times now so I will not be watching this anytime soon.

I feel like this rumor has been circulating for the past decade. Instead, it’s just JJ taking another movie and going “What if this was Cloverfield?”

Like, 10CL works, but it’s very clear where the OG movie ends and Cloverfield got tacked on. The Cloverfield Paradox is pure shit.

I told my dad Zilla from chorus said it sucks and he shook his head and with a tear in his eye he did the wakanda pose and said “wolfkanda forever”

nice seeing one of them days doing well, at least relative to its budget. a lot of people in my theater went nuts at the sight of janelle james even though she was in the trailer. plus it's great to have something more for Black audiences

This was more enjoyable than the movie and made it worth the trip.

i remember they had chosen a director a year or two back, and they explicitly said it was a true follow-up instead of tacking the Cloverfield branding onto an existing project.

i don't disagree with the notion that the "Cloverfield" story additions are the weakest elements of each film though. i love 10CL in spite of the revised ending that was added on (even though i don't hate the ending at the end of the day).

Paradox is easily the worst of the 3, and you can clearly tell where its problems are, but i also still found myself having some fun with elements of it. like the story is incredibly derivative and some dynamics between characters aren't well-executed, but most of the acting is pretty good for what it is, the visuals are fun at times, and Bear McCreary's score work is also good. idk, it's not a good movie (especially compared to the other two), but i also don't think it's the worst thing in the world, and if it had more work done on it, it could've been better.

I’m still convinced David Robert Mitchell’s Flowervale Street is being turned into a Cloverfield movie and that’s why it was delayed a whole year.

part of me thought that was the case, but WB is releasing that, and every other Cloverfield movie has been a full or co-production with Paramount, so idk if they're explicitly connected unless Bad Robot wants to work with other studios

I thought Paramount was just the distributor on those movies? But if it’s a Bad Robot movie then it would have to be through WB unless they just outright turned down the idea.
