I said this in here a couple months ago but a lot of my seniors told me they actually spend more time on reels than TikTok. I wonder how universal that is among teens. I assume most of them will migrate there and carry on

 

another point to make is that voters have short term memories so the chances of saving tiktok being a big factor in who people vote for in the next election seems very slim. I think the boost in popularity it would give him with youth voters is mostly temporary until the next big issue takes over the news

 

not to mention, if whoever runs in 2028 runs on a platform of defending the Biden's presidency... they are gonna lose regardless of what happens to tiktok

 

Yeah I think any goodwill will be temporary no matter how much it's been emperor's new clothes vibes

Also something I think about a lot is how many of my students, both 9th and 12th graders, have told me they hate tiktok over the last 3ish years, yet admit they can’t stop getting on it. True addiction shit

 

I’ve clicked on the TikTok app a few times tonight out of habit just cause that’s often the first app I go to when going on my phone especially when just laying in bed then realizing yeah, can’t do that

 

I just hid it behind Face ID for the time being.

 

for me it’s yahoo fantasy lmao…season’s been over 4 weeks now and I still keep clicking it

 

Can’t think it’s Tik Tok specific. I mean all of us are posting on chorus.fm every day, or on legit any social media site haha

I really wanted to take my 5 year old to our state fair this year but, among many reasons why I didn’t, one of them was knowing that bird flu was raging among cows and chickens this summer and you get up close and personal with them there lol. There’s even a big bin thing of baby chicks that you can pick up and hold at will

 

Reels keeps trying to show me videos of people dying so this is just great.
