It's one of those books that convinced me that I hated reading, and had to unlearn that because books rule and that book just sucks

 

this was me with green eggs and ham

 

that was because you couldn’t read it

In grad school I was assigned a paper on that book (As I Lay Dying) along with like 4 other students and the first guy gets up there and destroys Anse Bundren because Cleanth Brooks (famous Faulkner scholar) hated him as a character, so I get up and give an absolutely phenomenal rebuttal about why Anse gets a bad wrap, basically taking this guy's paper down point by point. The professor loved it and agreed with me. And then the next 3 papers were also about how Anse sucked and they had to follow me. Probably my finest moment in all of school.
