I don't know how you do Sloth in 2025

Gremlins with the right director can be cool as long as they keep Gizmo adorable

Trans groups and Mexican groups find it offensive. It is a musical with no good songs. It is a French director making a film about Mexico with American actors.

the only positive thing i've heard about this movie is that Karla Sofía Gascón and Zoe Saldana do a somewhat decent job with what they were given, and that's about it. everyone else has said the same thing you've said, so i have no desire to see it.

Sounds like a perfect film to garner worthless awards as we begin Trump’s second term!

Especially funny/shitty for it to have this momentum in a year with I Saw the TV Glow and The People’s Joker. (If someone “well actually”s me that The People’s Joker isn’t really a 2024 movie, then I am going to become the Joker.)

Let Joe Dante do Gremlins and keep the design exactly the same

Way back when, in a previous life, I ran a movie theater, a 2 plex. One movie to the left, one to the right (500+ seats in each auditorium)

It wasnt hard to see people from 1 to another, trying to sneak in, or under 17s trying to get to the R rated movie.

Now, our Regal has a concession stand in the middle (6 auditoriums to the left, 6 to the right), or something like that.

No one would noticed if you finish a movie on the left and go into another movie on the left...

The theaters per capita would go up if you buy more at the concession stand, but if you are seeing 2 movies, you probably also come prepared with snacks and water or coffee (and no one cares anymore...)

I have to drive all the way to Orlando for this, so I am thinking of trying something really stupid: 5 movies in one day.

10:30 for Last Showgirl, 12:00 for Nickel Boys, 2:45 for Hard Truths, and then 4:45 for The Room Next Door. AMC previews can run up to a full half hour so it will be tight. The Brutalist doesn't start until 8:30 and The Room Next Door should get out around 6:45 or so so I might have to eat at the Guy Fieri restaurant or go to the cigar store.

I’ve done 6 movies in a day at home before. I don’t think I’d ever attempt more than two at a theater.

The theater is about an hour and a half away and you have to give yourself time to get through the parking garage and security so it would really be a full day. I will probably tap out halfway.

I could only do two at a theater. More would break me.

That’s a lot in one day. I like time to reflect after a move generally, though I’ve done 3 or 4 in theaters before

I can't even watch one movie a day, I watch movies in hour to hour and a half chunks now for the most part. Microdosing movies, if you will

I have a vague memory of watching the 2012 film The Amazing Spider-Man twice at the same theater in the same day, but I could be wrong about that.

Would like to believe that’s true, at least. It’d certainly be a me thing to have done.

Sometimes I like to do triple features that have no rhyme or reason to be together. Best example is when I saw Dumb Money, Arrival, and Tar on the same day.
