Poor baby, you're starting to lose it.

The top 2 comments on the summer tour announcement are killing me.

Of sugar and ice I am made

I'm glad there's no dates super close to me, because I really don't care for TBS.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

don't love that new song, kinda feels like Pavilion without the... actual emotional texture that makes that song work

A little autotune or other modern flourishes here and there vs. totally dismantling your sound is just not the same thing in my book. Coheed are still around and headlining tours precisely because they very consistently release very consistent sounding (and often even structurally similar) records with only minute variations - not knocking them, they're just very much settled into what they do.

  7. having heard the album … I disagree?

    They absolutely still experiment.

This is a very weird band to claim to be stagnant musically, they very clearly mix things up often and consistently

Your first point of comparison for describing the new Coheed album was...the previous Coheed album. "Coheed mainly does their thing with some studio bells and whistles thrown in (and that's fine and here's why)" shouldn't be that controversial an opinion.

Have you been before? Hockey hall of fame is always cool. Same with the distillery district. For food, sneaky dees is a great, historic dive bar with great wings etc. Matty matheson’s burger joint matty’s patty’s is delicious too

You're moving the goalposts from your original post, which looped TBS and Coheed together and said they were both many years into the opposite of an experimental phase. No one said they were as experimental as foxing's last album was.

Have to say this new coheed song feels like the most I’ve liked a coheed song in a minute.

It’s an interesting take. I think out of nearly all the scene bands from the early 2000’s that are still kicking, Coheed seems to experiment more and somehow still is putting out some of their best material. Blind side Sonny, while not my fav, is nothing like they’ve done before.

We reach for the longest shadow

Yeah on a shortlist of the most unique songs in their discog, even though it's not my favorite. Evagria and Number City are the other two that immediately come to mind. Man, Afterman rules.

Someone hasn't listened to 152 and it shows. Easily the most TBS has ever experimented on record.

Didn't like it as much as I hoped...but TBS takes relatively big swings throughout their discog. Pretty similar to how C&C experiment.

"relatively big swings" lol what does that even mean

guys throwing in a synth for a song or two is hardly "experimentation" it's called recording in a studio
