BUT it is massive for kpop music which is important to me and I'm very bummed that it's likely being banned

I see people talk about Tik Tok being big for books and then those people are like yeah I read A Court Of Thorns And Roses and nothing else so idk how true it is but it probably is

 

i’m glad it’s getting banned bc it has gamified music making to a point that it’s disgusting to me lol

 

What’s crazy is you can think up legit any form of entertainment or community and it’s super massive and great for that.

Yeah obviously you’ll start out seeing those people who rec that book series or Colleen Hoover, but after just a few hours on the app it realizes what you’re into and does such a good job filtering out the bullshit. I’ve found some AWESOME book tok accounts, but ugh. Just sucks

I don't use tiktok but do look at instagram reels a lot and I do not think it is good for our brains. fan communities existed before short form video content. we can go back.

 

I don't like what Tik Tok has done to how a lot of music is created but I feel like most (keyword) music made in a way to take advantage of that fails and in general it still requires enough skill to take advantage of it

Nothing is good for my brain other than me reading the Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson for the rest of today and not doing shit at work
