The Flash (Andy Muschietti, June 16, 2023) Movie • Page 19

  1. 85% is a relatively bad cinema score grade. Anything below B+ is basically bad in that world.

Is this because everyone likes everything so it should be impossible for something to get below an A?

Superhero fatigue is very real - meaning you can't just make a movie with a random character the general public hasn't heard of anymore but they will see it because it's part of the DC/Marvel universe.

I think moving forward Spider-Man & Batman will continue to do okay because the public views those characters more like James Bond - people are cool with different actors playing them and will pop in for them. However everything else... complete crapshoot.

I mean, Shang-Chi and Eternals both made over 400 million, which for movies introducing said random characters, sounds like a pretty good showing financially.

Yeah but that was only when Marvel was starting to get really bad, now we've had like 10 shitty movies since lol people are tired of it

Although I did like both of those movies :P

I mean, every movie after has actually done better financially, so clearly the majority is not tired of it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying there aren’t things to criticize, but it's fascinating to me that the people most likely to say the MCU is in trouble are the people who aren't watching the movies anyway.

Usually when I watch NWH, I skip to when Andrew and Tobey come in heh

The rest of the movie is just not very good and visually disappointing

I dont like any of the Holland Spideys tbh

However, going back to topic - The Flash's multiverse cameos shit was so bad it made me almost feel like I was too hard on NWH. Almost.

Maybe because it was bad, not because women don’t like Flash? The successful CW says he’s wrong.

    I do not exist.

Perhaps he should consider that having a lead mired in controversy and allegations didn’t help either.

Yeah, it could’ve been an amazing film for all I care. I’m not going to pay to see a movie starring Ezra Miller

The CW Flash series was on for almost ten years. Saying no once cares about the Flash is so bizarre. It was delayed for years and had a predator as the lead. People gave up on it. I still hate that Kiersey Clemens was collateral damage. Would love to see her get a real shot at Iris

  16. Sasha Calle and Leslie Grace deserved so much better

I love the classic deflection from these guys instead of just admitting that they made a bad* movie. You win some, you lose some. That's life. Be honest with yourself, people will like you a lot more for that. Coming up with unfounded reasons for why your movie failed just makes you look bitter and incapable of self-reflection/taking accountability.

*Should clarify I haven't seen The Flash, but seems to be a common sentiment.

It’s not a dogshit movie. It’s not great, but there was some good stuff in it.

was more of a general comment on these types of situations. I clarified that I hadn't see it, but with the general consensus being that it was bad, I had to exaggerate to get my point across.
