  5. Oopsie looks like Biden wasn’t actually trying to stop it at all ever @David87

Literally none of those quotes is new information lol. We all know the US hasn't ordered Israel to stop the war or that there hasn't been an arms embargo--we've been asking for one for over a year now!

  7. I thought Biden was secretly trying to “get them to stop”? no?

There was plenty of reporting and info on Biden and/or admin officials talking to israeli officials/bibi about stopping shit, but it obviously never rose to the level where they were willing to leverage arms or support to do it, just asking nicely and hoping they'd comply. And as time went on it became more obvious that Biden was still ideologically committed to the 'defend israel at all costs' mantra that took over US politics in the preceding decades. Well, Biden or whoever was running the policy while Biden got older.

  12. Okay so would it have been honest to tell a voter that "getting them to stop will probably be a multi-month process"?

Also, it was clear to anyone with a brain that Biden was ideologically committed to Israel lmfao. He's been perhaps the most ideologically committed to Israel of any Democrat for LITERALLY 50 years.

Idk that's a pretty strong claim....have you seen what some Dems have said about Israel/Palestine? lol

Yes? I assume even if US enacted an arms embargo, Bibi wouldn't have stopped right away as it seemed his political future was done as soon as the war ended, and I assume he would have done anything he could to keep the war going as long as possible to extend his career.

  17. Right okay so when you wrote that sentence your intented message was "even if Biden wanted to stop Bibi, which he doesn't, he wouldn't be able to" not "Biden is trying to get Israel to stop it will just take a while"? because I gotta say I think my paraphrase is closer to the text you wrote

I would say both are true--I don't know if Biden could get Bibi to stop even if he wanted to, but if he was going to, it probably wasn't going to happen overnight due to the political circumstances in Israel. The best hope would be Israel's dependence on our weapons/ammo to keep going, but the Bibi political motivations + bloodthirst in seemingly the entire population of Israel makes me think they'd find other ways to get the weapons and ammo they need.

  19. You still, in January 2025, genuinely believe Joe Biden and his appointees have expended virtually any effort to restrict Israel? Where is the evidence?

The logical explanation is that Biden supported the worst parts of Israel's slaughter wholeheartedly and never did anything to impede their bloodthirsty actions. He loved it, and thought they had every right to do it, maybe even worse than they already were. All the evidence points to this reality.

I shouldn't get involved in this conversation, but considering that the rest of the UN wants to charge him with crimes, I have to imagine getting weapons and ammo would be a lot more difficult without us giving it to them.

  22. Biden is the only American politician on record as more willing to kill arab children than a sitting Israeli prime minister

    1. Where did this question come from given the post you're responding to? lol. Not getting the answers you wanted from me or something so had to shift?

    2. Depends on how you define "any effort", as multiple reports cited multiple conversations and asks about getting them to ease up, but it was clear for many months that they weren't going to leverage their biggest advantages to force them to do so (i.e. arms embargo)

  24. 1. Because you literally said in that post that the sentence "Biden is trying to get Israel to stop it will just take a while" was true

    2. Do you actually believe that those were good faith efforts that the administration expected to have any impact at all?

  25. David87

    1. It was your sentence I was responding to and you're not even quoting yourself correctly:
    2. As I said in my post, it depends on how you define "effort". I definitely think there were conversations had where they asked them to be more precise in their actions/stop just killing civilians, but I don't think they ever seriously considered using leverage to make it happen, outside of maybe heat of the moment exchanges that weren't serious threats.
