They probably papered it significantly so I imagine it was still decently full. The only act I've ever seen having to cancel MSG due to poor ticket sales was Faith No More.

Yeah Gov Ball is notorious for this. In NYC we usually get people on a promo run, proper run and then sometimes an off market leg (NJ, LI) so a lot of them time when they get to Gov Ball they've been in the area 2-3 times recently (i.e the rumored Hozier headline of Gov Ball in 2025).

Steve Aoki had to cancel an MSG show too due to poor sales back in 2014. Also Chance the Rapper, but that ended up being the entire tour getting canned.

What year was that? I love FNM but even I think them playing MSG is pretty ambitious

It was 2015. IIRC this was the big reunion for them, and their opening act was a relatively recent reunited Refused, so expectations were pretty high for ticket sales. The show ended up getting moved to the Hulu Theater attached to MSG which holds 5,500 people. Even with the downscaled venue it still didnt sell out.

Yeah I recall them only doing like, a couple thousand capacity theaters on that tour. Like, they even did the Observatory in OC which I was kinda surprised by.

IIRC, one of the guys said in an interview that aside from festivals, they actually have a hard time booking in the states. Apparently a lot of boomers/promoters only see them as a one-hit winder

Still bummed Faith No More canceled their tour in 2021. I was hyped to see them at Riot Fest, and now it seems I wont be able to see them amytime soon (or ever)

Someone on Reddit who saw Silverstein tonight was talking to them who confirmed they are playing DC warped.

I think they’ve been heavily speculated for a while too.

Only 87 bands left to confirm for DC then. Haha.

not exactly their big reunion, the initial one was in 2009. they played pretty much everywhere else in the world first, festival after festival making bank, took until 2010 for them to do any US shows and only did Brooklyn, Philly, SF, Coachella, LA. 2015 was coming back with a new album. did a successful major market spring theatre tour with le butcherettes, then aug-sept was relatively selective sheds with napalm death and refused (sadly not together) and a few festivals.

its not necessarily that promoters think they are one hit wonders, its just beyond their initial brush with US fame in the early 90s, they were far more popular everywhere else in the world, particularly england and south america. even with those 2010 shows, the two nights at brooklyn waterfront, i dont know what the sell cap was there, but i remember there being plenty of tickets on the secondary market under face value. looking at video it seemed filled enough, but still it just goes to show you what there demand is even with only 3 east coast shows. only with that 5 year wait and new album could they financially warrant a full US tour. then live nation decided the combo of them and other cult bands was enough to warrant half filling a bunch of smaller sheds.

Any other rumors for Warped? I'm going to the DC date and chomping at the bit to know.

Don’t know how much weight any of this carries, but Reddit seems convinced MGK, Avril Lavigne, Black Veil Brides, All Time Low & Falling In Reverse are all more likely to play than to not.

If even half of that is true I’m glad I didn’t blindly buy a ticket before the lineup.

How does a tour like this work logistically? Like the amount of time between dates, the routing, and the shifting openers just seem illogical.

I guess Stepleton just flies out for each individual date from wherever he lives, but that seems like it would make for a miserable few weeks, and it feels like it would make more sense to do at least a few shows in a row.

I think Silverstein was used in some promitional social media vids for the warped social channels so I kind of assumed they would be on the lineup.

Wasn't Enter Shikari and the wonder years also rumored? With around 133 bands scheduled to play i'm sure there will be some solid picks at the california date.

A Day To Remember also basically confirmed for Warped. Also important to note a lot of bands won’t be playing all 3 shows so even if Falling In Reverse is all but confirmed that’s not necessarily a guarantee he’ll be at whatever date you have tickets for.

Still can't fathom after all the rightful criticism Warped got at the time for booking abusers and overall shitty people they go and book Falling In Reverse.

I can fathom that they are bigger than ever. Seeing them as headliner at Resurrection Fest in Spain, and subheadliner at most metal festivals in Europe was something I was not expecting.

I wish Kevin Lyman wouldn't but i'm not surprised since a lot of big festivals do like Dwp books them a long with racist bands for aftershock
