Helped my aunt and uncle set up their new TV yesterday. A 65" Samsung 7000 series. I tried to talk them out of buying it for similarly priced, better options, but they wouldn't relent, despite having a plethora of complaints about their, you guessed it, 55" Samsung 7000 series from 4-5 years ago. They were convinced it was just a bigger size that would solve all their problems.

Anyway, the TV looked fine-ish once I got it dialed in, but they're happy enough with it, so I guess that's all that matters. I was just shocked at the build quality, the immediate sluggishness of the UI, and the fact that the thing barely has any ports. 4 HDMIs and 1 USB. Can't remember the last time I saw a TV with that few inputs.

My C2 OLED only has 4 HDMI ports tbh. 3 USB though

Oh, the HDMI count is totally normal. I meant the lack of absolutely anything else. I know a lot of people don’t need anything else ever, but I’d also expect there to be a large crossover of people who buy cheaper TVs and also might have legacy devices.

I saw like 3 $999 65” G3 LG OLED deals and I’m bummed I’m not ready to make the purchase yet

Damn, those are some insane deals. I want... any 42-48" LG OLED in my bedroom at this point. Even fine with a b-series because it's always dark in there, anyways. Just can't swing it.

In the same boat. Once this tv shits out I’ll jump.

Gonna be in the market for a TV real soon and I am very, very excited. Been using a Bravia that I absolutely despise since like 2018.

I’d love like a 65” 4K OLED but I’ll only have about 1,500 to spend so not sure how realistic that is. (I haven’t looked at TV prices in a minute.)

I also need it to be bright because my biggest complaint about my shitty Bravia is that it is insanely dark even at its brightest.

    Definitely possible.

I would definitely recommend greentoe. 1500 is a pretty solid “bid” and would probably be accepted for. 65 c4

It's so weird how up and down the prices are of OLEDs. It really just depends on when you look, but prices drop dramatically pretty often. I agree that 1500 should be doable!

Highly recommend the LG C series of TVs, my C2 has been treating me very well. No issues at 3522 hours of screen on time. PS5 is especially amazing on it.

Awesome. I was looking at monitor suggestions for Mac Minis recently and the C series came up quite a bit. Not actually interested in using one of them for my Mini, but I will absolutely consider one as a TV.

You should def be able to get a 65” C series for $1,500! Saw several deals in that range over the holiday season

Same. Bought a C3 last year on sale right as the C4 came out. I've had it almost a year, and I am still blown away with how good it looks every time I turn it on.

Yeah, you should absolutely be able to score a 65" C model for $1,500 or likely less. It became pretty common during the holidays, and new models are right around the corner. I'll keep an eye out, too.

I will also vouch for the C series LG TVs. I just don't turn the wifi on and use a Roku Ultra/Mac Mini. I got a 55" C3 using Greentoe for less than $1000 last January.

My CX has never let me down to this day. 3/4 years now. Absolutely love it.

LG C owners (maybe just C2, maybe just me), beware of the latest WebOS update that adds Chromecast support. I have so far had two occasions where every single HDMI on the TV goes black. I don't even get a standard "no signal" screen from LG - just looks like my TV is off. Only solution has been to unplug it. WebOS, its apps, and the remote are fully functional when this happens.

Talked to another person on Reddit who has had identical issues on their C2 and also only ever since the update sooo... Interesting. Hope LG addresses it. It's happened twice over 2 weeks maybe? So, at least it isn't constant

I've been hearing that update also messed up VRR pretty badly. I've been declining it on my G2.

You got it! Just keeping an eye out for when the deals drop and give you reference points for pricing so you don't rush into a bad deal!

If you can get a good deal from Costco on one check there too. 8 year total warranty on my CX.
