Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

I’ve said before and I’ll say it again- Remove “Up Against” from Louder Now, and replace it with Sleep and put Brooklyn between Divine Intervention and Miami, and Louder Now suddenly becomes a perfect album.

If it’s a tour with coheed in the states, will it be announced until their spring tour is over? Unless it’s in completely different markets?

Yeah I get the feeling that the band were doing their best to keep quiet about the situation and work things out with Mark so that he wouldn’t leave, but then between Eddie’s remarks on that podcast and Mark’s very public crash out over the last week, the decision was made.

Up Against has entered a weird area for me where I clearly don't like the song/find it boring and always have, but somehow can't imagine the album without that song either. Definitely agree sleep and Brooklyn should be in there. I don't know what the best taking back sunday song is, but in my opinion Brooklyn is a fierce competitor for it.

Yeah, the back half of that bridge where they go “you’re better off believing everything you heard was true. You’re better off believing everything you heard was…genuine and unprepared!” is one of the best things they’ve ever recorded

Up against feels like it needed more time to cook.

Selfishly, I wish the disaster that is Mark’s departure from TBS would continue because it was entertaining, but I am also happy Mark has decided to make a mature decision to share the news on Instagram without too much further hostility.

Interesting that both Eddie and Mark have felt like they didn’t receive enough support from the band when trying to fix their lives. Definitely wonder what was done vs what could have been done better.

Both Eddie and Mark have now made references to "making music with an old friend" (Mark on today's Instagram staement, Eddie on his Reddit post from a couple days ago) so they'll probably release something together.

I've been awaiting that Mark statement for about 6-8 months now. Long before the chaos ensued.

Still hits a bit different to see an original member depart the band after 20+ years.

  11. Especially after seeing him as much in the forefront of the 152 promo as he was. Guess things really soured very quickly between him and the rest of the band after the album release (hence the scrapped music video too?)

In the comments, Mark confirmed he and Eddie have already worked on stuff.

I feel like everything about the 152 promo was “Mark had this idea…” like all the stuff being record on Long Island, etc. and even in the VIP Q&A sessions, Adam mentioned Mark a lot of times and how he brought so many different things to the table etc

I guess there's that ex-member collab everyone wanted so bad.

  16. That’s what I remember as well, so I’m very curious to hear what they come up with without him, and potentially with Fred if there’s ever a possibility they write and record with him again.

Probably more of a Self-titled feel? That's my guess.

The spring Coheed tour is all B markets. They could probably still announce this new tour since it'll be in major markets (and probably the official "new album" tour).

That statement is so funny. Want to focus on positive while his song is clearly super negative. But, okay. At least it’s official now, I guess? Time to move on until the next wild thing his “friends” say.

    Things have changed.

It seems like his buddy/producer deleted all those comments where he called fans gay and insulted their genitals.

I would love that. The self-titled has aged really well in my eyes.

  22. This is all of us seeing Mark made an official statement, but then reading it:

But I'm glad it was relatively chill. Like others have said, he probably didn't write it completely by himself, and that's for the best. Although a lot of damage to his character has already been done so it feels a bit too little too late.

A lot of this has sort of instigated me looking back on past drama and realizing that the viewpoint I had back in those years ("Adam is sort of melodramatic and likely caused a lot of these flame-outs through his actions") was likely largely inaccurate, or at the very least the situation was vastly, vastly more complicated than I thought, and that also Adam had probably grown up since those years, and a lot of people likely did not/have had other issues.

    Are You Watching Closely?

Echoing others... I'm selfishly kinda sad that it ended as "maturely" as it seems to have after all the build up from the weekend, but it was the right thing to do I suppose.

Also, as stated, incoming Mark and Eddie project is obvious at this point... I wonder what happens when Antonio joins them. ;-p
