Yeah she said she was taking 2024 off so I wasn’t expecting an album announcement or really anything from her this year, including public appearances post the Grammys.

That being said, if she is still working with Marshall on the next album I will also be very less interested. I’ve heard the Christian Lee Hutson album is really good but the fact that he is all over it is making me less interested in checking it out, or at least checking it out as quickly as I otherwise would have.

 

Phoebe is smart to take the rest of this year off away from the spotlight in general, once venues were opened post pandemic she was touring non stop for the Punisher album cycle and straight into boygenius mode with barely any breaks so I wouldn't blame her after the grammy wins she disappeared away from the spotlight after all the touring, promo appearances and guest features she has done and the only thing music related shes focused on is her own record label Saddest Factory.

In terms of new material I don't think we r not gonna hear anything till probably second half of 2025 I reckon.

 

I’m good with that new Japanese Breakfast album coming in March as my Dead Oceans 2025 album anyways.

 

Hopefully there will be new Julien and Lucy.

I would hope, with the terminally online fanbase she's picked up, she doesn't work with Marshall either solo or with BG going forward, but I've been let down before.
