I’ll check this out at some point, but opening day I’m choosing Sonic 3 over this

Was not a fan of this at all. Timon and Pumba were the worst parts of this film, but the overall film just felt pointless. Should’ve just re-done Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride

I saw this as part of a party of five and all but one of us fell asleep at some point

Ehhhh…The Lion King remake was ass, but I don’t think many people even remember Jon Favreau directed it. Barry got his bag and I’m sure will be fine.

while i don’t entirely disagree i think the standing of favreau to get financing and barry might be a little different unfortunately

I wouldn’t blame Jenkins for the film being dog water. It should have never existed to begin with. I don’t think anyone could have made it worthwhile.

It depends what kind of financing we are talking about. If he has to go back to making small independent films, we all win. If he can't get hired to do 103 Dalmations, we all win.

yeah this stunk. i don’t know what parts were or weren’t barry’s doing, but i did find some redeeming qualities among the larger mess. about the only thing that wasn’t better than the remake from a. few years ago was timon and pumbaa, which surprised me as they were the only likable parts of the other one

really don’t want to complain too much about BJ, since we all have actors we love and revere even after they take on roles that were plainly meant to secure the bag. guess im glad the movie is behind me now

while i agree, it isn’t like small independent films aren’t getting harder and harder to make with widespread distribution too

I don't think he'll be in director jail because visually and technically this was fine

Plus what could be worse than putting your heart and soul into something Amazon gives a $40 marketing budget to

The one person who shouldn't get blamed for this, Barry Jenkins, is going to get blamed for this
