Matt Rubano said something similar on a podcast several years ago, but doing so would require a team a dozen of fact-checkers to make sure all sides of the story from all the different band members are corroborated, and that the whole story (at least what he was aware of until he got kicked out) is pretty crazy.

 

Do you remember which podcast this was? I’d be interested in listening.

 

I think it was a Going Off Track episode from 2013. Its a really good listen. He talks about how he discovered the bass and how he got the opportunity to play on Lauryn Hill’s album and his time in TBS.

 

They need a doc like Zao had that’s 3 hours long and has every ex member ever in it

 

If they get started now, they’d have just under 4.5 years to get it done before the band’s 30th anniversary.

The 2011 album to me has aged incredibly well.

Except for “Money”. Belongs in a second-rate Vegas road trip comedy film trailer.

 

"Money" still slaps to me, I don't care if it hasn't aged well.

With all the business partnerships they've been doing lately for promo, maybe a documentary actually would be on the table. They have quite the storied past and plenty of "eras" to explore, and if anything it might even introduce them to a wider audience if it came out on a popular streaming platform. Do it just ahead of a new album, go nuts guys

 

I can't imagine enough people would give a shit (outside of this website) to watch a TBS documentary in 2025.

I’m kinda over the anniversary tours tbh. Would love a deep cuts tour with Fred. Scrap most of the same old setlist staples and play stuff across their whole catalog that they haven’t played before or at least in a very long time.

I don’t think Adam would ever consider a documentary, given how little he seems to care to talk about / fuel any of it.

 

Same critique as before…music and melodies sound kind of rad, lyrics are lacking

Also wouldn’t a lot of it portray him in a negative light (I.e. John/Shaun leaving, Fred leaving, letting go of Matt and Matt and John/Shaun returning, him cheating on Chauntelle DuPree, Eddie leaving, other untold drama)?
