I wonder how many seasons of only home teams winning the first round it would take for them to move them to neutral sites to encourage competitive nature or some shit

 

Get rid of the bye and why does a team like Oregon even show up for the big ten champ game, given they'd be top 4 even with a loss? I think there is too much money in those games that they need to make them matter

 

Yeah you can only pull so much back without making the conference championship games almost a penalty rather than any sort of "reward" (if that is what you want to call it lol)

 

I give it another year before they move it to neutral sites. Definitely see it happening in the future especially with the weather being shit in the north lol

 

That is true. It’s an imperfect system for sure. I just don’t see the SEC/Big Ten standing for teams in other conferences getting byes when they have teams that are ranked much higher.

I think the system is fine. Penn state may have an 'easy' next game but then they have to beat Georgia or Notre dame. So they'll get their hard game.

You have to do auto bye or else conf champ games are mostly unwatchable

100%. I'm not convinced there is a great answer either way. Maybe just stick with 8 teams? And then for Oregon the title game is the difference between getting the 1 seed and getting to play ASU is better than falling to the 3 seed and having to play Ohio State again

This system worked way better when the pac still existed and ut/ou was still in big 12 that's for sure.

 

I've said all year that next year I have no expectations for Nico. This year is just the learning curve. Love to see him growing literally as a game progresses. Makes so many less dumb mistakes this part of the season as he did at the beginning.
