Wtf I’m mad Athena won because it likely means she’s not AEW destined and I’m mad because Billie should be champ.

 

Yeah like I've said before, I'm super happy that Athena is getting the props and recognition for everything she's done in RoH with the title but damn I wish she'd make a run back in AEW because she was awesome there imo.

I think her and Thunder Rosa are my fav debuts, I felt they were absolute fire. (Wish I could say the same for Deonna, I feel she fizzled)

 

Athena winning is like when Brock won at WM34. Sure, it was shocking...but only because what was built before that was so clearly building to something else, and ending it any other way wasnt just a swerve, its kind of a betrayal of story telling at its most basic. And its no accident that that was basically Roman's worst period right after.

Everyone is worse off. Athena's worse off, because who can reasonably beat her that matters for like, 6+ months!?. Billie is worse off cause she's got no future now. She's a mid-card woman in a promotion thats 4th tier at best and they just refused to crown her. She'd be crazy to re-up with AEW and a WWE ID tag would generate buzz actually. And, now there's a whole host of women in AEW/ROH who could have had fresh stories chasing Billie (Harley Cameron being one of them), who know have, again, nowehre to go as AEW has 3 dominant heel champs holding their belts in Mariah, Mercedes, and Athena.

 

Honestly, he found the perfect "They'll cancel me for saying it" kind of line and just crushed it.

 

Billie should have won.

 

I’m just kinda confused after that Athena/Billie match lol. Was the perfect time for Athena to lose and it only makes sense to drop the title to Billie

 

God I hope Billie goes to NXT

 

I bet they’ll find their way toward a third match. Logically it’ll make little to no sense when the time was right now. I know they probably wanted Athena to walk into Wrestle Dynasty as champion but still.
