I’m scared to drive in Pittsburgh in the winter and that’s a big reason why I pivoted my car choice to just getting another (much younger) Subaru (with the newer engine that doesn’t have head gasket problems!!!!)

i actually had my eye on the weekend of june 27-29 in pittsburgh bc i want to go to PNC and its da mets.

 

Say what you want about Subarus but their AWD absolutely crushes the snow, it’s like driving on dirt. I’ve driven 3 Subarus and never once felt the tires slip in the snow (granted I drive with caution also)

 

Finally someone on Chorus.fm who can speak up for Subaru

I’ve also already had that accident in my life where I don’t know how snow works so once my car started slipping downhill I kept trying to turn against the slide and slid straight into a snowbank

I now know you use the brakes VERY early well before any wheel turning is needed, let off the brake to gently turn, and if you slip, turn in the direction of the slide so the car can create more friction
