Considering Mark’s written guitar parts for the band, that’s a weird thing for him to have been mad about

I think Fred was also pushing to get more song writing credit as he was writing most of the music, IIRC.

Seems like Mark is kind of a turd.

Probably a nothing burger as well but someone on Reddit was saying Mark follows Jordon Peterson type accounts on instagram and that John would definitely not be into that

He came across as an absolute douchebag whenever I would spend time with them. Adam was always soft spoken but very sweet. Rubano would go out of his way to make you feel welcome

Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

Agreed on Adam, very nice guy and way more chill than his stage presence would suggest. Only met Rubano in passing a couple times but seemed really chill. I met Mark once after a show on the Tidal Wave tour and chatted with him for a bit. He seemed like a nice guy. I joked about how I thought in intro to “We Don’t Go in There” sounded like the Unforgiven by Metallica and he thought it was funny. But other times he seemed a little stand-offish. There was one time where I told him and Rubano that they were a great rhythm section and Mark didn’t acknowledge it but Rubano pointed to Mark and said “it’s all this guy right here.”

Weird how like a month or so ago I said good riddance to Mark because of his beefs causing band members to get kicked out, and I got flack for it, but now it's just being openly embraced in here now lol

Hah, would be kind of interesting if political beliefs played a part in the split. The members don't get too publicly political very often but John def seems like the most libbed up and has alluded to political topics before on socials, and if I were stereotyping Mark, he def gives off douchey long island bro vibes that could clash with that hah.

For what it’s worth - John and TBS band account are now following Fred. I am pretty sure they were not prior to this weekend.

    (I still think it’s just a one-off)

    this is all there is

I definitely could have missed some videos or interviews, but what is the source on Mark's amount of songwriting on 152?

Personally, I'm over the moon they let Fred join them on stage and would be smashing that refresh button in the moments that tickets go on sale for a WYWTB tour with Fred (it would probably be Louder Now, but I'm wishin here).

Mark has always been a fantastic, consistent member of the band, but unless Fred has done something straight up unethical/unforgivable, a beef from almost 20 years ago surely isn't something he's leaving the band over...right?

and shout out to when Mark rejoins in 5-10 years :crylaugh:

I'd like to see Fred back as much as the next guy, but please, god, no more anniversary tours.

Yeah, I am also fully on board with this. Would absolutely love to see them hit the studio with Fred instead and play a fresh setlist.

Fred being back would get me to a show for sure. Dude is incredibly talented and has always been my favorite member. Would love a WYWTB tour

I know Fred wasn’t there, but I feel like the 20 year tour just happened and saw both albums played. If they do a tour of them, I wouldn’t go.

I hope they play New Again to spite Greg at this point tbh

From all the different interviews and oral stories and etc, the gist I got from it all made it seem like some form of:
    1. Mark liked writing and contributing to writing music for the band
    2. Fred being a more classically trained musician was writing from a different perspective and "skill level", for lack of a better term
    3. This is where the details get really fuzzy but it seemed to be implied a few times out there that Fred was basically writing off anything Mark was trying to contribue/changing it because it wasn't "good enough" (whether this is Mark's perception or what, who knows)
    4. Mark took that personally, and on top of that you had the rumors of Fred claiming he wrote the majority of Louder Now and wanted more royalties and etc.

I mean if there's any truth to any of that I can see why Mark would still want nothing to do with him. One of those "and I took that personally" things lol
