My boss is asking if we need to make a Bluesky account for our company. What's the presence on there from companies, is it mostly just political types leaving twitter right now?

I don’t think I’ve organically seen any companies posting on there. I’m sure they are there but not doing much.

 

Pretty much every company immediately ends up on a bunch of block lists so people can avoid them.

 

gambling addiction is going to get out of control in this country. I’ve seen it happening with some younger family members that literally cannot watch a sports event now if they don’t have action on it.

I only gamble when I goto Vegas like once every few years…legalizing gambling in so many places was a terrible decision. Honestly, if it had just stayed Vegas and Atlantic City we’d be better off as a country.

I went to the Cavs game last night and no joke, the two (maybe 21/22-year-olds?) guys sitting behind me talked about bets the entire game. Every few minutes they were talking about a new live bet to place and that's all they cared about. It was highly annoying.

Also doesn't help that the Cavs (and my assumption is many professional sports teams) are now broadcasted on FanDuel Sports Network and even the live broadcast is all about placing live bets and updated lines/over+unders/etc throughout the game.

It's honestly brainwashing at this point.

 

online gambling is dangerous. I'll do sports betting online but in terms of playing casino games and stuff will only do that at a casino. doing it online takes away the fun honestly. I like going to Atlantic city a few times a year with my friends

Losing money with friends in a vibrant environment = fun
Losing money alone at your house = not fun

 

had this happen to me at the bills/49ers game on Sunday night. Guys next to us had to keep taking their gloves off in a snow storm to place bets on their phone…probably placed 10-15 different bets throughout the game.

Norwegian coworker today told me he didn’t agree with the killing, that the CEO was just doing his job. I’m like “bro, you come live under the US healthcare system and not become radicalized; try it”

 

So are we still sure this was someone being radicalized against the healthcare system and didn’t have to do with the insider trading allegations?

 

I wasn’t necessarily referring to the dude being radicalized, but more so develop a raging hatred for the system itself and the people who run it and control it. For all we know it could absolutely have been something related to the insider trading; we’ll never know though, as the dude will likely never be caught. But the fact that he had those words inscribed on the bullet casings lends itself to the idea that the killer was radicalized

 

I was a big poker player as a teenager and got into slots and blackjack a bit in my 20s but I never got addicted to it the way I did, say, shooting dope, but I know some people that are pretty down bad with it. Just not my thing, I’ve lost too much and won too little to see it as a legitimate way to make money. It’s only really fun as a night out with people. Or during like a big game like the superbowl or nba playoffs if you’re sport betting. Otherwise yeah not my bag
