when i was just starting out i wish i knew about diminishing returns and how good value epiphones were compared to gibsons. i got a classic vibes tele a few years back w the same colors that immediately became my second favorite guitar and sort of think of it as the sgs reincarnation lol

I agree the epiphone is WAY better value for the casual player.

However, I would argue the "diminishing returns" bit gets less true and the Gibson value becomes more apparent when you get stronger at guitar because you start to realize how the flaws of the lower tier guitars can hold your tone and playing skill back
